haven't bored you lately with food pics...

I don't normally go for the 'sloppy' and overloaded burger and honestly don't recall why I did this night, but it was fantastic. I've also been playing around with different cheeses for mac.

I caught some squid today. They are very plentyful these last few years. I've never tried them to eat before, but I'm going to try to fry some squid rings tonight. The wife and daughter are gone for the night, otherwise I doubt I would be allowed to clean them in the sink! Anybody have any good squid rrecipes?

Now that sounds GOOD! My squid......not so much! Just not overly fond of the taste. I think I'll leave them in the water from now on! Smoked chicken sounds more to my tastes.....

tamales. Cheese for the plant eater and the other I went with a saucy beef mix. Now have many in the freezer for quick snacks.

my brunch. Since I decided to actually try, i've learned how to make a béchamel sauce with is the base of many other things, mac and cheese included. Then playing with the cheese combos and this time added a bit of white wine to give it a fondue type flavor. But I have discovered anew to me type of pasta, cellentani. Its a ribbed long elbow, kinda twisty. Worked great for our pesto as well. My new favorite

This was leftovers, one less than 24 hour old egg from my freaky chicken lady over a pile of sautéed ham. Sadly, I'm out of bread.

Not sure why the font went whack...

canned biscuit garlic knots. A bit heavy on the gut for me but tasty and so easy. Our German girl that lives here loves them.

I buy large cuts of meat and breakdown myself. All the cuttings go tot he freezer until I can grind my own. About the only way we can afford to eat beef at the moment. I get whole sirloin roasts and huge chucks for usually less than $7 lb. Found a chuck in the back of the freezer form just at the start of the pandemic that was $3.49. Ah those were the days...

then I wanted tacos, she wanted a meatball sandwich. We had leftover utility sauce (red sauce I make for pasta, pizza, soup if blended down, whatever) so I deep fried her a ball or two...

Yeah, meat is getting a bit rediculous hear too. My wife recently bought 2 t-bone steaks for her brother who rents our appt. She paid $22.50 each for them. I won't be eating much steak at that price!
