Re: Colorado Elk ....
Ok Art here you go, the colder weather you wanted is on its way expect snow, but accumulations will be light(by Colorado Standards), I would expect about 20 degree drop in temps from today to Tuesday afternoon so Wednesday looks good but Thursday looks better, Monday however will likely be the hottest day of the hunt so your looking at tough hunting.
If the Low pressure system due Tuesday Afternoon slows down any then accumulations will increase dramatically, but right now its expected to fly through the state until it clears the divide and then it will hit a High pressure dome and that will slow it down so on this side of the divide we could see 6" to 10" of accumulations by Late Wednesday in Douglas County while low temps will be in the teens and twenties.
I would advise you guys to get your scouting done tomorrow as the next couple days are likely to have the animals sitting down waiting out the weather but be ready as afterwards they could start moving hard, the barometer will be all over the place this week so you guys will have to stay on your toes, your going to have mixed weather and mixed hunting, should be fun!!
