Re: Classic boat pic gallery (20yr and older)
A lot of nice boats in this thread! I am new to the site and figured I would post some pics of my old Sea Ray.
The boat is a 1979 SRV 240 Weekender. I got the boat from my father in-law 3 years ago after he passed away. He only put around 95 hours on it, so it has very little time on the motor but unfortunatly it sat in dry storage untouched for around 17 years. The years wouldn't have been so bad but after the boat cover gave out my father in-law started buying a plastic weave blue tarp once a year to cover it during the wet season and the tarp would be destroyed by late summer so it would be exposed to the elements for the rest of the year.
I have been slowly restoring the boat over the last year and have been making pretty decent progress so far this year. My goal is to have it finished by next Spring which shouldn't be a problem seeing as the only thing really holding me back from finishing the boat is cash LOL.
Here's where the boat started.
As of right now the entire outer interior is torn out of the boat to be refinished, most of it is done but I don't want to reinstalled anything until I can get the new carpet installed. Here's what I have done so far.
I am trying to keep the boat as factory looking as I can but it is next to impossible seeing as most of the "1970ies" color and styles are history LOL. Looked for over 6 months just trying to find a burnt orange carpet with no luck and I had to custom re-dye all the vinyl in the boat . I will post more pictures when it is done.
Thank you for checking out my boat,
Robert
