Re: Classic boat pic gallery (20yr and older)

Thanks M Casey. We're coming through Meridian tomorrow night on our way down. Maybe the ground on the sender will be our problem too! Looks like no time on the gulf this time with seas to ten feet on the 4th and lots of thunderstorms predicted. Hope I get her wet and get some project time? If not I still have welding shop arranging and painting to do. There's always a project to do. Cheers!

Re: Classic boat pic gallery (20yr and older)

Hi all,
Great pics :) Here is my 1989 Galaxie of Calif. (have no idea what model it is, if you know, please let me know). Bought it a month ago and just finished rebuilding the trailer (all new lights and wiring, new bearings, new hitch, and rollers). Boat is ready for the water, Interior redone a year ago, runs in the driveway well ;) , but most of the gauges (Madallion) don't work, have no idea why. I was told they are getting power, can't imagine they are all bad, but they are 22 years old...now to find replacements (fuel does work). Anyone have replacements? Thank you, Rick.

Rick, You have a Galaxie (Rialto, Ca) "California"... the same one I have. Pics will be up later today... awesome boats!!

... LOL You're short a couple of "V's" but you have my INTERIOR!! Except in '72 apparently they didn't stamp the badge on vinyl.

Nice looking boat.

Yours is nice also. I see the "wood" trim on yours is very dark compared to mine. The contact paper on mine is peeling off so I am removing it, sanding the plywood, and staining walnut, and a few coats of spar varnish.

The 70's were great for "smoke" wood finishes ... :puke:

I haven't dealt with mine yet ... condition looks better than it really is, so I'll probably have to do some structural repairs on the doghouse and the seats. Start a thread over in SILVERLINE section. I'd like to see the seats when you get 'em done.

Love my 22yr old, matching number, 250 hr, 3 owner Galaxie (Rialto, Ca) California... I bought her in January and so far, she's been all a 1st timer could ask for. I've done impeller, drive, tuneup and oil change service. Restored teak on engine cover and swim step... She has 2 small soft spots but other than a few tiny tears she's immaculate inside... Every second spent working and fixin' on her, is heaven... Is it just me? Lol

To ALL,

OK already. I've obviously found where the TIN StarCraft folk hang out. I give up. WHERE do the EXPERTS on glass '60s Starcrafts hang out?
(I've found a "maybe 1964" may be a SPORTABOUT but am NOT sure.)

Failing that, does anyone have GOOD photos of the early-mid '60s glass Starcrafts that I can look at the interior arrangement of?

yours, satx

1960's MirroCraft Ski 'N Troll

I still need to finish a hand full of things like paining the interior, painting the rub rail, and installing power trim, but it's done enough to enjoy this season.

1980 Bahner mini day cruiser, picked her up color sanded and buffed. Then decided to build a new small block for her.

1978 Glastron T-160 Sportster. Dad bought it new in '78. It narrowly avoided going to the junk yard and it has been recently "rejuvinated".

It's old enough but not sure if it qualifies as classic.
