Should I push the bellow behind the ditch. The bellow was stopped just at the position of ditch. It should be very good if I can push the bellow behind the ditch. What is the right position for the bellow of u-joint. The bellow is for QuickSilver.

I have a question for applying adhesive. Should I apply only inside of bellow or both inside the bellow and outside flange?
Are you referencing the service manual? All the question you are asking are answered in the manual.

You apply adhesive to both the inside of the bellows and the outsode of the flange. Wait until it starts to dry (goes 'tacky), then fit the bellows to the flange. The gimbal housing end must go into the groove (you call 'ditch')...

In Manual # 6, I cannot find your provided guidance. Now I still have the issue for exhaust bellow installation. After I clean the outside of the mounting flange of belling house and the inside of exhaust bellow and I apply adhesive on both side, After the adhesive is not tacky any more, I tried to put them together, But both of them are stuck together and I do not have time and change to pull the bellow back. So it is very difficult.

Can I just put adhesive only inside the exhaust bellow. then maybe it does not stick

Exhaust bellow is best installed dry, no adhesive. In my experience it comes off if adhesive is applied.

Well some manuals tell you to use adhesive on the exhaust bellow. I’ve done it and it comes off when trimming up. Read somewhere else that said clean and dry. Works for me!

You are right. I have installed exhaust bellow without adhesive. I know there is leaking without adhesive. But it is better than the bellow comes off

How do you know the bellows is leaking? The exhaust bellows always has water in it. If the engine is stopped, then the exhaust bellows is completely filled with water, and if the engine is running, then all the water from the cooling system is going out through the exhaust bellows.

You are right. Can I say exhaust bellow is useless or it does not matter if the exhaust bellow is missing?

Attached file is for pics while trimming is a little up. I pulled the bellow back with zip without applying adhensive and without taking the outdrive off.

it does not leak any more after I re-sealed with adhesive in the u-joint bellow and it does not come off for the exhaust bellow without adhesive.

Also it does not see the backfire any more.

I appreciate all friends help including Achris, Grub54891

Well thank you,and I’m glad you have the issues fixed. We are all in this together, that’s what makes this website great. All we want is for people to go out and have a good time and not worry about what will happen next. I’m the one who can never stop listening to my motor/equipment and know it’s either good or not. If I hear a funny noise….. ugh….

Today I checked the bell house and found there is a lot of white rust spot shown in the attached files. How can I prevent outdrive being rusted. I found a wire is connected to negotive post in my battery.
