Press the throttle only button, 1 full pump of throttle to set choke and prime the carb, then pull back to about 1/4 throttleIt is a little bit difficult to code start my engine and the temperature is about 5 degree in the lake.
Do you also have this kind of issue?
Exactly was going to say how are you starting it and is the choke operating properly. Marine carbs don't have a fast idle cam like cars so you have to do that with the throttle leverPress the throttle only button, 1 full pump of throttle to set choke and prime the carb, then pull back to about 1/4 throttle
Turn the key. Once it fires, pull back to about 1500 RPM
Ayuh,..... Whatever works,..?? Use it,.....I have tried to start my engine in driveway and I found it worked fine if I pull the throttle at the position of not at 1/4 but nearly full position.
Thank you for your replying.No. Get the correct Mercruiser kit
And not just a kit for Mecruiser - get the OEM merc or quicksilver part. Their impeller last much longer than the cheap aftermarket onesThank you for your replying.
keep an eye on temp gauge get used to where it is. if water flow stops engine will get hot immediately. on my old boat with 140 deg thermostat used to at hot idle run about 150 normally temps started creeping up to 160 ish just before impeller died, then it got real hot real fast...How can I know if the impeller is broken while running in the lake. At that time I cannot see the water flowing from engine too.
Ayuh,..... Change it every other year, 'n it should never be a Problem,.....How can I know if the impeller is broken while running in the lake. At that time I cannot see the water flowing from engine too.
Timing is offMy engine cannot start after I replaced the gasket the distributor. It worked very good before I did this job. What is the next?
