It is a little bit difficult to code start my engine and the temperature is about 5 degree in the lake.

Do you also have this kind of issue?

Press the throttle only button, 1 full pump of throttle to set choke and prime the carb, then pull back to about 1/4 throttle

Turn the key. Once it fires, pull back to about 1500 RPM

Exactly was going to say how are you starting it and is the choke operating properly. Marine carbs don't have a fast idle cam like cars so you have to do that with the throttle lever

Thank Scott06 and Scott Danforth. It works better with your advice.

Step 2: pull back to 1/4 throttle
Step 3:Turn the key
Step 4:pull it back to 1500RPM
Step 5 pull it to neturel after it run smoothly.
Ready to go

Thank you

Yesterday I was in the lake and was very difficult to cold start my engine even I followed your guy's steps. But it backs to normal after the engine is warm.

I have tried to start my engine in driveway and I found it worked fine if I pull the throttle at the position of not at 1/4 but nearly full position.

I bought one water pump impeller of Chrysler 115 HP outboard about 7 year ago. The engine of Chrysler 115hp (year is 1978) was gone.

Can it fit mercruisier 2.5L year is 1989?

How can I know if the impeller is broken while running in the lake. At that time I cannot see the water flowing from engine too.

keep an eye on temp gauge get used to where it is. if water flow stops engine will get hot immediately. on my old boat with 140 deg thermostat used to at hot idle run about 150 normally temps started creeping up to 160 ish just before impeller died, then it got real hot real fast...

get used to scanning the gauges.

New boat with 160 thermostat runs 170 or so...

There are flow meters available that have an alarm on them. Don't know anything about them but might be handy for when the ice bag gets caught on the intake..

that will turn the motor over. to actually start it, you need power to the coil

My engine cannot start after I replaced the gasket the distributor. It worked very good before I did this job. What is the next?
