Sorry. I'd like to upload a picture to confirm the cylinders connections to distributor are correct or not.
You've got the firing order switched around. Currently you are running 1-4-3-2. It should be 1-3-4-2, If you forget this info is on the value cover :)

I did this once before and it will run, but not happy and shakes, correct he firing order and you should be good.

Could you please upload a new pit to show me how to connect?

All you need to do is change the spark plug leads 3 and 4 at the cap....

Good news. After I switched lead 3 and 4, it works very well, not shaking, starting perfect. Forward and reverse are working

I think I made a mistake to put the wrong lead between 3 and 4 because the third is close the coil and I gave up the testing for the third and continued testing the fourth and mixed lead 3 and 4 later.

Thank you

Attached file is the wrong connection. I have corrected it according the guide of Achris and Beretta.

But it stops running after I pull it to reverse shift. What is the next?

yes this is fine depending on how level the boat is parked you will not have equal flow out of the ports
Now it stop after I put the shift into reverse. Do you know what reason it is?

Somebody has the same issue as following

Before the nut(red marked) on the lower shift cable is tightened just close to the brass barrel. So I adjust it and make it loosen from the brass barrel.
The stall of engine disappear while reverse shift is set after I put a little far behind the Brass Barrel. Really it is good news. Also it become further from the brass barrel aotumaticlly because of vibrating of engine.

What function is it?

That nut should be tightened against the other side of the cable from the brass barrel. It is a stop nut to keep the end from coming loose (the end is the threaded part and smooth part of the end of that cable). Tis part is removed when running a new shift cable. after you run the outer sheath of the cable you need to tighten the end onto the cable sheath as far as it goes and then tighten that lock nut. then put the cable into the sheath and install the black cable end onto the cable....

Attached file is original layout before I started to diy it. the nut is farway from the brass barrel. So it should be tightened against the other side of the cable from the brass barrel. I will do it. Thank Baretta

Apparently the transom is rotted and it has been leaking for a long time. All that sealant around the gimbal housing is a dead giveaway.

Anode (and probably the bolt too) is missing. Wouldn't mine betting that's where a lot of the water's getting in.... The other side is ok...

Wonder if that bolt broke/corroded off. Remember that much of the beginning of this thread were half assed attempts to work around rot... Losing that bolt would go with a rotten transom.
