Yeah, that screw often locks up with corrosion. The best method I've used is a combination of heat and an impact driver. But looking very closely at yours, you've rounded out the head. Best just grind off the head and retrieve the continuity wire, drill a new hole very close to the old screw and put a new screw in.

🤦 Do not cut the wire. You'll need the wire again when you have finish the job. That wire is very important!

Grind the head of the screw off so you keep the ring terminal on the end of the wire, you are going to need it.

Can sombody suggest which Mercruisier maintain set is best to buy? I search Amazon and somebody said price is good but quality is bad for specific tools package . So I have not yet made a order in Amazon

Only recommended manuals are the MerCruiser factory ones. Put the serial number of your engine and the serial number of your drive and we can tell you which manual to get.

My neighbor has successful removed stripped screw. LoL.

How can I removed the shift cable?

Here you go... Most of the questions you're asking are covered in the manual. Tools should not be your first priority, the manual should be. How do you know which tools to buy if you don't have the manual to help you decide how a job should be done and which tools are needed?

Before you remove the shift cable, tie a length of line to the engine end to make sure you have a way of getting it (or a new one) back in the right path!

Have to ask, why are you removing the bell housing? If it's to replace uni-joint bellows, then you don't need to remove the shift cable.

This is incredibly good advice. Trying to get the cable in right place without a guide is not easy! Trust me...

I need to rebuild the bellows and it is last step to take of the bellows. Can anybody guide me to disconnect the shift cable in engine side?

Both sides of the lower shift cable are stuck. Is there any solution to take off? I need to put a new bellow for shift cable. It seems that I have to cut it.

Unscrew that square piece you have circled, there is one on the other side as well. The cable just slides out.

Yes. I did. It cannot be slide out even I pull it after I unscrew the square piece screw. I will do it again.
