Cool collection of old Mead/Hoover dam pictures you found there Sam!

I haven't been to Mead in almost a year  Went to the river a couple of times last month and caught a couple 20#ers, pretty poor striper fishing down there since the trout stocking ceased...

Where you going up in the Sierra's? I've only been up there 2-3 times trout fishing, thought it was really nice. Moving back to Cali, permanent?

Heck, no. I refuse to go out in Red Flag conditions ever again...I'll wait 'til it's too hot.

We had a group of them in our neighborhood :help: that we had to put up with for a couple of months. Luckily, one of the neighbors worked at the post office and found "them" in the post office's wanted posters. The FBI was more than happy to take care of our problem...

Well I did make it out on Mead Friday morning with my son. Was planning on launching around 5:00 but the wind woke me several times from 2;30 to 5:30…Launched around 8:30 after the wind let up and crept out of Boulder Harbor as the lake has really gone down in the last month. Fished the wash after netting some shad and caught 9 stripers. Beware of new rocks just below the water level..

So we went out Saturday overnight to Sunday. Looked at the windfinder report prior and planed our trip accordingly. In the report we saw strong winds Saturday evening so we set up in a protected cove at Sandy cove before the winds started. Then planed on leaving by 2:00 PM Sunday to head back and avoid the strong (25mph) winds predicticted for Sunday at 5:00 PM. Obviously the report was WRONG! By 7:00AM Sunday the winds were fierce and they never let up. We finally couldn't wait any longer and headed back at 2:00PM into very nasty winds. We were all in life jackets and have a 24' cabin cruiser and we and got bounced all over. We made it back but heard that there were 15 rescues...thankfully no drownings. Great job to all those involved in the rescues.

Haven't been on for a while. New, simpler format? Interesting.

We're heading out Friday night to T-Bar. It's Temple Bar Days this weekend so we'll be in the Temple Basin area I'm sure if anyone is out our way. I haven't checked on the weather for wind yet. A friend was out for 4 days last weekend and said he didn't launch Sunday due to wind. Some friends in the village @ TBar got a new tri-toon so we may not even launch Miss Ski Tow. I just got back a couple days ago from 10 days in Baja including a 1300 mile off-road race so I'm looking forward to putting Montezuma to rest and getting some real R&R myself!

Here's a historical ringbolt still in Black Canyon. Steamships would come up the Colorado River from the Gulf of California to deliver supplies. Certain times of the year a large rapid was located at the mouth of White Rock Canyon. The steamship crew would tie a rope to the ringbolt and pull the ship upriver.

[h=5]National Park Service - Lake Mead National Recreation Area[/h] 2 hrs ·

Recommend warning at all launch ramps due to lowering lake levels. Warning at all launch ramps due to lowering lake levels. Holes may appear that have been underwater and filled with silt that cannot be seen till water drops. Rocks, sandbars, reefs and other underwater hazards may appear throughout the Lake Mead area.
Hemenway Harbor: Two lanes available to launch. Only one side of courtesy dock available to take out or in. Other side is available from water not land. No deep water launch.
Boulder Harbor: Excellent launching to include deep water. Narrow channel marked by rock buoys should be good until we can excavate.
Callville Bay: Main launch ramp closed. Excellent launching from low water launch ramp.
Echo Bay: Main launch ramp closed. Excellent launching available at low water ramp. Dirt road to ramp
Temple Bar: Main launch ramp available. Deep water side launch closed. Good launching.
South Cove: Launch ramp has narrowed allowing only two lanes. Has silt and debris but still usable.
We will continue to work to improve launch conditions.

"Temple Bar: Deep water side launch closed."

Shortens the trip to the Lake but reduces the level of serenity. Bummer.

I still launch with no problems. You just have to back out a little further. Really no big deal.

Pretty quite around here, hope it's the forum problems keeping the posts down, instead of people not going to the lake...

We were out at Echo last Saturday-Sunday, beautiful day, fishing, tubing, monkeying around on shore. I was shocked to see how low Mead is now, 1/2 of Echo Bay marina is sitting on dry land. We launched at the low water ramp without issue though.

(Took camera, but no pics, sorry guys....)

Just realized I had to log in to use the web site..I haven't been in Nevada for a month so have not been to lake. I should be out there around 7/10 so looking forward to getting out on Mead. Boulder Harbor only had about 4 feet of clearance to get out on the main lake so it may be closed when I return..Jim..

hey there fellow Meaders. I hate to post this in here but I need some help with some spark plug wires. I posted a thread but only got one answer and still need more help. I'm running out of time to be able to return the wires for a refund in case I got the wrong kit. If any of you could help, it would be greatly appreciated. Here's the thread link http://forums.iboats.com/forum/engi...7838272-do-i-have-the-wrong-spark-plug-cables
