Here's a cool pic taken by Desert Adventures, possibly around Boyscout Canyon. It supposedly won an award in a magazine. Just looking at it makes you want to be there.

Yup, your right on the money there!

I've always wanted to yak/canoe down the river with the family. But if I did that,,, I'd probably drag along a fishing rod and ruin the whole trip

I can bareley see where land and water meet.

Yea, I can see why it won an award. That's really a high quality exposure.

I just got a gopro for my b.d. and looking forward to using it on the sky ski. They take nice HD pics and vids. I'd like to attach it to the hydrofoil to get that perspective in an HD video. Maybe over Labor Day

Got in some lake time Friday and Saturday..Went fishing with my son and grandson early Friday with a 5:30 launch fishing Vegas wash for nothing. Went over to swallow and landed 1 small mouth. Launched Sat around 7:30 and fished swallow area for 3 small mouth. Kind of weird there were no stripers any where. We are going to try an afternoon trip on Sunday. Lake was real nice except a bit of wind on Sat. Got off the water at 10:30 Sat. I had hydraulic steering installed on the Tracker and its nice to be able to steer easy now.Heading back to Cal Tuesday...

Re: calling all lake mead boaters! nevada

Hey guys, finally some good news to report, after rebuilding the braking system on the trailer twice, and the right drum assembly three times in less then 300 miles we finally got to the bottom of the issue. Faulty brake line. Corrosion inside prevented the fluid to flow back to the master cylinder. So woohoo that's finally done. Also got to the bottom of the water intrusion issue. So question is, do we have a marine tech in the group that wants to do some side work? I have a small leak coming from the steering arm area and I either need the transom assembly rebuilt or replaced. Really would prefer not to have to spend the $3500 that the dealer quoted me.

Got out to the lake Sunday afternoon and launched around 4:30..Lots of activity at the marina at Boulder harbor...Havent been out on Sundays for quite a while but everyone was courteous...Headed to box car cove area to get out of the wind and it was really nice there. Fish were not biting so we headed up to Government area and found some boiling stripers. There were about 5 boats trying to get them but they soon sunk out of sight. We ended up getting 2 stripers jigging them in 50 foot of water. The ride back to the ramp was a little bumpy but not to bad..One more try on Monday..

Thnx Dan....Went out Monday morning around 8:00..Calm lake and very few boats..Ran up to the end of Vegas wash looking to net some shad but found none...Came back towards Swallow and caught 1 tiny small mouth..Heading in around 11:00 and what a nice surprise to find boiling stripers near the water intake by Boulder Harbor...Grandson and I caught and released 27 stripers in half an hour...Wide open with not another boat around....Fun fishing and nice day on the lake...See you next month Lake Mead..

Got back from Lake Powell over the weekend and as usual Powell doesn't disappoint. With the low water level we were able to see parts of the lake that are usually underwater. In the back of West Canyon we found wild scallions growing up to 8' tall, amazing. here's some pics from our trip.

The thunderstorms at Powell are no joke. We caught one right as we got off the lake. I was trying to cover the boat as it started to rain. The lightning was getting to close so I thought I had time to just put the straps on the back, WRONG. A bolt hit that was so blinding and loud it couldn't have been been but a short par 3 away if that far, scared the h*ll out of me. I said forget the straps, it was hooked on the bow, I'm taking cover in the truck. The ride out of the park was crazy. The cliff walls were now water falls and then it started to hail and rain so bad I could see 20' in front of me, thought the windshield was going to break for sure and the wife was freaking out. Somebody caught the storm on video and put it on Youtube

Thanks for sharing the pic's Skiya, looks like you had a fun trip!

WOW, that's a lot of rain that dropped there. The video of Antelope canyon is incredible,,, if you have seen antelope canyon when it's dry. The video makes it look like the water isn't all that deep, but it is, something like 40-50' deep they said. People have been hiking down there when a flash flood comes through and they never find them, buried in the mud and debris...

If anyone is looking to spend some time on the river downstream, I highly suggest reserving one of the peninsula spots by Pirate Cove Resort, down by Park Moabi. Nice beaches. You can boat up to Laughlin or down to Havasu or just hang out by the cove.
