Looks like we missed out on one heck of a good time last weekend. Now that the truck and boat/trailer are finally behaving we're going to try to make it out this weekend if the weather cooperates.

Monsoon returns starting today w/ chance of thunderstorms though the weekend. Keep a eye on the sky, they can pop up quick.

Yup, too many vacations this summer, haven't been to Mead since,,, April I believe. Weather this weekend looks good, at least it does now. Couple of days ago it said isolated thunderstorms, who knows what it will be like several days from now

We're definitely going out tomorrow. Launching out of Calville at 0800. Gonna maybe cruise through the narrows to the Virgin basin then anchor up at sandy as usual for a few hours of just swimming and lounging. This way if the weather kicks up we'll be close to the marina. If anyone else is going to be out there feel free to beach up along side and say hello. Hope to see some of you out there tomorrow.

Mead or Mojave house boat rentals ?? I was looking for Seven Crowns house boat rentals but it looks like they are gone..Any other options on Mead or Mojave besides Forever house boats ? They are asking around $800 to $850 per day..Probably just fly to Puerto Vallarta for that price..

The last stand on Mead for Seven Crowns was Echo Bay. The first HB we rented was in Calville in '87 and it was 36'. Picked it up Monday and dropped it off Fri for around $750. You're right. Prices are insane now. I can fly the family to Cancun for a week what it costs now. The HB's are really nice, but when you weigh in the fuel it skyrockets.

We went, just not to Mead... Wife and daughter didn't want to go, so I asked my son if he wanted to dink striper fishing at the lake,,, or big striper fishing. We ran down to the river and got our butts handed to us by the big'uns, had several hits with no one who wanted to play. Except a nice one I had on for several minutes, then he/she decided it was time to part ways about 10 yards from the boat. That's Willow for ya', the big one that got away....

Yeah, $800/day is nuts. I don't know many who would lay down that type of cash for a Lake Mead/Mohave vacation. I guess if you were splitting it up between family and friends it might fly, but that's a lot of cash for a floating motel... We took a Seven Crown Crownship or Summit (the small one) out of Echo about 5 years ago, 3 day off season special was $650.

We used to geg several couples, about 5 or 6 and chip in 1500 per which included gas & ice on the big corrilean ship with the full bar on top. That was bk (before kids). Than ak, we would get about 3 families and split it. We houseboated on Mead for about 18 years. We've also done Shasta 3 times. Pretty lake.

Yeah, miss the house boat trips...Weve done Katherines landing, Echo Bay, Calville,,, Trying to set up something for 2014...Looking more like a trip to Mexico.....

That 80 degree water sure sounds nice....I"ll be in Henderson from 8/1 to 8/5...On the lake for sure..Just got a call from Dannys marine in BC...Boat is ready. I had the steering converted from dual cables to hydraulic...

It's kind of refreshing for a change that it's Mead holding steady instead of Powell. Since I'm gonna be up at Powell next week I was checking out their water data base and Powell is dropping like a rock right now, about 1 1/2' a week. Thats a lot of water.
