Last weekend I headed over to Mystic Seaport for their annual "Antique and Classic Boat Rendezvous and parade". I was a bit foggy on the way over to say the least. I buoy hopped to Stonington harbor and then dropped an anchor for a couple of hours until the fog lifted. ........ Fisher's Island Sound has very few buoys, and lots of big rocks, so I had no interest in feeling my way through there.

Starting to get a bit thick....

Yep, .... sitting on the anchor for a while now.

I'll have to give them credit, the fog didn't slow these little guys down, they came drifting in out of the fog after about an hour.

Thanks for the great photos! Brings back great memories of working at or supporting New London and Newport when I was serving in the Navy or working fo MWR Division later on.

Seems you've got a thing for classic fishing rods too. Is that one in the port side rod holder cane? The rest look like fiberglass. Nice to see you haven't forsaken the material entirely! :)

Cheers.......................Todd

One rod is split bamboo, one wood and two ‘glass (still older though). Lol.
One of the reels actually has a patent date of 1889.

Thanks for sharing. The Admiral and I want to take a trip up to New England some time next year and I would love to have the trip coincide with one of these get togethers.

Such beautiful boats.:encouragement:
