Tylerin, that is a stumper. I am thinking the runner is out, cause he is touched by a live ball.<br /><br />I still dont understand why on the third strike the batter can run if it is a foul tip? Or something like that.<br /><br />Ken

The batter can run on the third strike if the catcher drops the ball and first base in unoccupied. A foul tip on the third strike is an out if the catcher catches it, and a foul ball if he doesn't catch it.<br /><br />Ty, is it a balk?

Ken its simple, "foul tip" that's "caught" on the third strike, the batters out. a third strike that isn't tipped and is not caught by the catcher the player can advance to first He can be quickly tagged out by the catcher or put out at first as long as first base isn't occupied. If first is occupied he's out unless there's 2 outs then he must be tagged or thrown out. Jeez!! that is confusing. Bases loaded 2 outs and a dropped third strike catcher can step on home plate for the third out

Catchers balk Gauge, all runners advance one base. Catchers interference is when a batter while swinging touches the glove of the catcher. Batter gets first base and all runners advance one base

Too easy Mike, I'll let someone else answer that one.<br /><br />Runner on second, sharp liner to the SS, deflects off the SS's glove, hits the runners helmet who was on his way to 3rd, and then the SS catches the ball after the deflection. He then touches second base. Is the runner out, is the batter out?

Man at third long fly ball outfielder touches the ball but bobbles it in the air as its coming down the man on third takes off. A moment later the outfielder catches the ball and throws to third for not tagging up.. Safe or out??

I would say the runner has to tag up until the fielder has possesion of the ball, out at third.

Why is it called a "foul pole" if the ball hits it, it is a fair ball-home run

If the ball never touched the ground, the runner is out, if he did not tag up. The ball is considered in the while the fielder is bobbling it, therefore when he gets control and possesion, he has caught it on the fly.

Wrong Capt once the ball is "touched" the runner can advance. Rule imposed at the turn of the century to detour fielders from bobbling the ball all the way into the infield purposely
