Re: Any good Larson shots?

I rescued this poor old girl about 2 years ago.. she's a 1968 Larson 186 All American.

She had sat in someones yard for over 15 years not touched and they were getting ready to bulldose the house for a new housing development. I still have a few outdrive problems to solve with her and I'm still learning about working on these things, but, maybe this year, I'll get her mechanically 100%. (we are at about 90% right now... If I could just get the shifting working correctly... LOL).

I wish I could have restored the interior to original condition, but, that was just a bit beyond my means, so she's carpeted now, but, the seats are still the original ones... after I rebuilt them.

Hey, very interested on your thought's on the 254. I just bought a 2000 Cabrio 254. I had it in the water once and I am just waiting for the hot weather. I have the 5.7 merc with bravo III. I was very impressed with the boat on the first run.

Woody,
Noticed your smart tabs. I have this same boat (2005) and just got my tabs delivered yesterday. How do you like them and did they make as big a difference as everyone talks about?

Re: Any good Larson shots?

dhook,

Absolutely love them.

Had read a lot about them on this forum and company website and decided to take the plunge.

Could not believe the difference. We put the boat in the water and it is about a ten minute idle on the river to the lake we boat on. First difference is that low speed wander was virtually gone.

Onto the lake, went out the channel and then booted it. Bow rise very significantly reduced, up on plane real quick and finally stays on plane at lower speeds.

Don't know about top speed or fuel economy, do not open it up just to see what it will do and with the type of fairweather, relaxed boating we do I don't go thru a lot of fuel.

Bottom line it is great to find a product that more than lives up to its statement of claim.

Put 'em on, you won't be disappointed!!!

Hi guys well I had a go at up loading photos but I'm IT useless.
I own a Larson 370 Cabrio in Australia love it fitted with Volvo 370 hp diesels.
Named her MY MISTRESS as I told my wife I intend to spend lots of time and money on her so hence her name.
I will try to do photo's of her in my back yard jetty she a lucky girl gets lots of attention and she does not mind a good scrub up, and looks the part.
Cheers Larson owners

Here's some pics of my 2001 SEI 180BR I bought last Friday. I haven't taken her out to the water yet. I will be taking her out Saturday. I can't wait. Not bad for a 2001 eh? Interior is perfect.

Congratulations on the boat and welcome to the site.

I have the same boat right down to the hull and upholstery color but a 2002 with 4.3 Volvo Penta.

Bought it in the spring and been out 9 times. Love it !!

Have fun with the new toy.

Blizz,

Learning as we go and nothing major. Finding the time can be a challenge but we go out as the weather permits every day off.

The memories my boys and I are creating will stay with us forever.

Have fun with your boat, I do.

That's what's driving me. I have a 2.5 year old daughter and want more kids and the memories we will make will be with us forever. I remember my dad taking us out when we were kids and we loved it. I'm in TX so we get 7 to 8 months where we can go out so I plan on going out every weekend till it gets cold.

It doesn't have to be the newest, or prettiest. It looks like it's in nice shape. It floats, It moves. and it looks like you and your co-pilot are having a good time. That's what matters. Enjoy it.
I grew up, riding around in my dad's 1969 Larson. It was 20 years old when he bought it, but it was new to us. I will always remember those days.

Re: Any good Larson shots?

Lookin very nice. If I had the jack, I would have bought a new one. Mine is already out of commission...bad solenoid, then the replacement I bought was bad and the place I bought it from will not exchange it so I'm out $50. I'll have to buy another one and hope it's good. Hopefully I'll be back out on the water in 2 weeks.
