"I'll now make the statement that "tall Africans make better basetball players than short Messicans.
Being a lib, you will immediately rail at that statement, seeing the "prejudice" in it. Won't you?
Of course you will. "

I don't know...maybe. I will only say, generally speaking, tall is better vs short when speaking in terms of competitive basketball. I don't think race matters a whole lot. If you are tall and athletic, you are ideal to play the game.

Did you have a point for side-tracking this discussion?

That's quite the imagination you've got there :)

I think his point was that children raised by an at home parent have more ability to judge character. You could not have misunderstood or misinterpreted the message if you tried... or did you?

Intriguing point. I think there is merit to this, as I agree that children who are raised in daycare face different challenges than those with a stay at home parent, but none of that is worth anything if that stay at home parent is not actually parenting. A parent staying home is not a guarantee of anything, as I have seen countless lazy stay at home mothers who stick their kids in front of X-Box or the tv. I have also seen countless working parents who take the time to educate their children to the ways of life. My point is making blanket statements like children are screwed if their parents work is nothing more than ill informed rhetoric used to fuel more mis-information. I had no father, my ma worked her arse off, and us kids turned out just fine.

Try reading my entire post. I realise it is long-winded and heavilly-editted -- but then, you'll be able to brag about your attention span afterwards :)

Thanks for interperting RF. Now maybe if Jason's mom had stayed home he wouldn't have needed your services.:p

BTW, I went to great lengths and sacrifices for my wife to stay home with my children. I will tell you now, my 19 and 23 y/o's don't have any trouble at all, looking and listening to the Edwards's, the Gores, the Daschles, the Reids, the Clinton's and the Gephardt's and discerning that they are amoral, lying, pandering, power hungry megalomaniacs. Oh, and they (my chirdren) have no use for their socialist ideologies, as well.

Yeah, my mom should have stayed home. And drawn welfare. Whatever....

Boomage, I have been in literally hundreds upon hundreds of households in the last 8 years, and I have seen every example of how people raise kids, and as much as I hate to disappoint you, working parents can raise healthy kids too. Stay at home parents can be negligent too. In fact, in my brief career in law enforcement, most of the terrible conditions I saw kids in were two parent homes where mom stayed at home while drunk arse husband kind of worked and kind of beat the wife and kids. I didn't go to homes where both parents were working, now why do you think that is? Your argument fails in the light of day to day reality. What worked for you worked because it happened a million years ago. Now, because everything costs a fortune and wages suck, both parents have to work. If you had to go through parenting small children right now Boom, you would quickly find out just how unrealistic you are being.

It's easy as heck to sit back and preach and say "I did it" when you did it a million years ago. Try it now, it's a whole different world, and not because Clinton and the other evil democrats caused it....

For what it's worth, my first wife stayed home and cared for our daughter while I worked, because that is what I thought it was supposed to be. She rewarded me by sleeping with the neighbor because she was "bored". Maybe it's the democrats fault, or my mothers fault. Gawd....
