Now that makes for an informed opinion about the veracity of Rush Limbaugh. But I guess mrbscott really does not need to listen. He has several uber- progressives on the forum from which to gather his information.

"loose" to Rush?

An honest typo, but Yes, "lose" to Rush". See, air america has filed for debt protection under chapter11. That's what this thread is about, isn't it? Or is it one of those spelling/grammar tests that i just flunked?

Boomy,I honestly tried to listen to the "centre of advanced conservative studies" orchestrated by Doctor Democracy ,Rush Limbaugh, himself.
After trying 3 different times,I had to give up.There are enough pseudo politicians around where I work.It is getting old very soon when most airtime is spent not just discussing, but almost preaching, about how the liberals are clueless, while offering no alternatives, beyond accusing the liberals and cow towing to the current administration no matter what they do or say.
Rush is far too full of himself and it comes dribbling out of his mouth.
I tried Air America once and I could easily envision a few paranoid hippies, that were stuck in the sixties and never grew out of it.
In all honesty,I must admit that I love listening to NPR talk shows. So you might accuse me of being an elitist liberal, but I would take that as a compliment.

Mr. B,

Only in the interest of clarity. I don't listen to Rush either and also consider him primarily an entertainer . . . I do, however, listen to some conservative talk shows on the radio as well as NPR. I honestly attempt to get many sides of all stories. I am equally turned off by juvenile stuff regardless of the source, I don't believe it attracts listeners and I believe it cheapens any seriously intended message. I do not consider my listening to talk radio as a sign of a lack of intelligence, and I also don't recall calling or considering you stupid no matter how well I may have disguised it . . . ;)

Exactly what value is an opinion of something which one has never experienced? How can one form an opinion of anything without so much as cursory exposure to it?

This is how rumors like the ones circulating about our government blowing up the towers start, take on a life, and persist.

It's easy! I've never been shot with a gun, but it's my opinion it would hurt. Care to disgree?

I've also never heard Billy Graham, but it's my opinion he probably has a very christian message. Care to disagree?

You can agree or disagree with Rush's methods or message, but the Democratic Party would pay a bunch of money for someone who could get out their message anywhere as close. Or maybe just get him in jail, or something, anything ...

As far as AA is concerned, it was democratic business as usual - try to make you scared of something and try to convine you of who's responsible. Maybe if the message had been something new and credible they'd still be on the air. Probably not, but maybe ... :/

Re: Air America Files Chapter 11, but I thought....

Sure Curmudgeon I would be happy to. Your first hypothetical, is based on experience. If you hit your hand with a hammer, a pipe, a wrench, a knife, a 2x4, everything you hit yourself causes pain, then what would lead you to believe that shooting it with a gun would be any different? It is knowledge of how the human body works. It is experience. Therefor you have a basis for an opinion. Babies can put their hand on a hot stove and burn themselves due to Lack of experience.

Your second hypothetical doesn't hit the mark. Yes, you could say that the Limbaugh program is conservative, but how can you call him stupid, as each human is unique, (It is the basis of our judicial system) without so much as having heard him? Yes a deaf person can be a music critic, but what do you call the review? An opinion? I am not sure that fits the criteria of an opinion. An opinion has to be based on SOMETHING. What would you call my opinion of a given race if I called them a slurr because I got mugged by a member of that race. Informed? Rational? Useful? Otherwise it is more like defimation. Or perhaps a regurgitation of others opinions, but how intelligent is it to form an opinion based solely on the opinions of others? That isn't a rational opinion... It is intellectually weak. As my post indicated, I didn't say you couldn't form an opinion based on nothing, but how do you form a rational opinion, and what is the value of said opinion?

Regardless of what his (Rush) message and opinions are and wether I agree with them or not (at times I do, others not), I refuse to be forece fed my political beliefs as many of you seem so willing to do.

Yes, and I've never been shot either. If you were shot between the eyes I doubt you would feel anything..

Re: Air America Files Chapter 11, but I thought....

Years ago, I used to be able to listen to Rush for extended periods, but for some reason I no longer can.

Perhaps, during the Clinton era, he spent a good deal of time expounding on what should be done, and he could at least make it sound quasi-credible.

These days, he spends a good deal of time defending what is being done, and expounding on how much worse it would be if dems were doing it. Even Rush can't make that sound credible.

I have listened to both Rush and Air America and both come from the same pot and I am not eating it.

Both are divisionary and only hope to get a radical following. Just so happens that it is easier to get a following of those who hate than those who are more open and are aggressive in thinking on their own.

Neither programs are supportive in making this a great country and both fall under the enemy of "Together we stand, divided we fall."

I dont listen to Rush everyday either. I cant. When I hear recordings of the Democratic responses, it can be very upseting to know that the people who support them will never hear it in the main stream media.

PS- I almost forgot.....A moment of silence please while the TRUMPet plays "Taps"8)

41 million dollars in the hole. Bummer. Even the bank, George Soros can't bail them out.

Please someone help me with 3, just 3, "radical" statements made by Rush. He is on a minimum of 3 hours a day, five days a week. There should be tons of examples of this out of control Radical.

They can't POINTER. It's the truth that sets the Left against Limbaugh. They can't refute him. They either have to claim that he is mean (and you know that mean people suck) or that he is divisive. Of course any bit of truth that the Left would like to ignore is divisionary..

You could say that black was black and if it did not fit the Left's agenda they would call you divisive.

If I find the time, I will listen tomorrow to find 3. It should take no more than a couple of minutes at most, and I can deal with that much of his show.

No thanks needed. In these trying times, we all must make sacrifices.

Hey, PW...Good on ya. At least you have the conviction to put yer proverbial money where your mouth is. I really do respect that, in spite our political differences.
And since you're already going to listen to Rush to find those examples of radicalism, I would like to make another challenge, if it's not too much trouble;

Find just one provable lie.

I'm anxious to read your report, whether you accept my additional challenge or not.

My heart goes out to Al Franken.

Air America owes him about $360,000.
