Man, I went out to my maibox today, and still no case of beer!! Damnit! lol:D I was really hoping to get it for the big game tmrw. ;) Thats exactly what I did when I got my Chris Craft, just sat in the drive/yard and stared at her for like a week, then started tearing into her.

Re: Advise please!

Probably should ask for permission first, you don't want any Copyright Infringement lawsuits from Smoke.....

And I drink Corona Extra BTW......

Happy to help in any way I can!!

That name would be awesome. Any name that involves a good story is a great one!

I think I'm going to just pick up a nice leatherman for now......I know I won't regret that and I know I'll use it.....

I highly recommend a 10 dollar tool lanyard. My leatherman had a flip out lanyard attachment point and I never used it. It's in the bottom of the drink now. Again, I highly recommend a 10 dollar tool lanyard.

QUOTE=smokeonthewater;3624727]ALSO when you are buying gear... REMEMBER that the company that pays for and provides this forum SELLS boat gear....[/QUOTE]

Was surprised to see iboats carries Spectrum Gel Coat repair. Have used it in the past . Great stuff easy to use. ( A little plug )for iboats. Just got somemore the other day.

Re: Advise please!

West Marines wanted 20 bucks a pop for the rail mounts.....but iboats.com is only asking 11 per mount. That is 8 bucks cheaper times 10 mounts = 80 bucks in savings!

Will have to pay a bit in shipping, but still will be cheaper.

I am going to grab the good camera and snap some pics for you all in a few.......will post in a bit.

Re: Advise please!

Well this is where I get out of the middle and congratulate you Salty once again on the nice find, I don't have any experience on cleaning a boat thats sat in the water but there are many others here that have, your son looks like he is ready to take his post as first mate, you get to be Captain but just remember the wife will take the Admirals position so get used to it!!

Looks like you have some elbow grease in the future but in the end I think you did very good!

Re: Advise please!

that's a good kind of trialer set up.

bottom doesn't look bad

Why not leave the bow rail off?

Re: Advise please!

looks like you need a zinc annode on the motor, just above the prop. When you install it, tap it in with a hammer, as they feel tight but sometimes aren't.

Re: Advise please!

Looks good man. How does the rear deck look?

Your trailer rollers should not be hitting the chines. may need adjusting. Also, get yourself some wheel wells so rocks don't chip the boat. Get yourself a good hard bristle scrub brush and some dish soap for the bottom. For sh!ts and giggles, get yourself some 800 grit wet sand paper and sand a test spot on the darker color on the hull. Bet it will shine up like new.

The teak on the helm and any other teak can be restored to look new. If you haven't looked over my refurb thread, you might want to, it is a similar layout and type of boat and I have done many upgrades and detailing of things you can do cheap with some elbow grease thrown in.

I would NOT leave the railing off on a walk around, you need it when walking aft or toward the bow.
