I figured that it was not needed. In my original motor mounts , there was just 2 pieces of 3/4 plywood and all open underneath. The 1 inch ply PB'd to the stringer should carry the bulk of the engine weight.

I have a quart of epoxy primer . Would I be able to use that on my laminating resin transom as is? Or would I have to use PVA first , wash off and prime? I was thinking to paint the transom and put back my gimbal housing . After I finish my engine mounts .

Use something to space them up and then pipe PB underneath. I only had mine lifted 1/8 - 1/4 inch. It doesn't have to be much.
What is PB? Aside from my issues with the Formula 27 I'm also in the process of re-building a "free" boat... 1980 Vanguard Banshee with a 90's Johnson V4 90. Just at the point to start replacing stringers & floor now.

Well another beautiful day for glassing. Started wrapping my stringers and finishing the fuel tank area. I hope to get the fuel tank in today. Then my engine mounts .

What do most of you do when poring foam where your fuel lines are? Wrap vapor barrier plastic around the lines?

Mine were not under the deck. If it were my boat i would install conduit to run them through. If anything were to ever leak it would not saturate the foam, also you could replace the lines more easy if it ever needed it. The foam sticks to everything and would be like trying to pull them out of concrete.

Not sure if that is the best advice but its what I would do.

The original builders of my boat just pulled the rubber fuel hose under the floor and foamed it in place. Honestly, a terrible idea if you ever have to replace it - there was no way it was coming out without the floor coming up. I put some grey PVC conduit under my floor to pull my new fuel hose through. This way it can be replaced in the future if it ever needs to be. Once I put the floor down, I just foamed through some pour holes and let it expand around the conduit.

Here is the link to my thread where I started putting in the conduit.

Thanks, the run is 7 feet under the deck. The boat had minimal foam on the side where the fuel fill and vent hose were. Conduit is a good idea.

Well I am not a Craftsman as many of you are , But I am learning. I have to say that working with 1708 is like day and night as opposed to 1800. I like 1708. The only fiber glassing left , except the floor , is the bilge and engine mounts. I am wrapping 3 layers of 1708 around the stringer and mount. Then installing the riser for the floor and floor.

I am at the stage of pouring foam . Just finished putting the screw holes. Need to get clear solo cups tomorrow for the foam. Still need to finish the bilge after the 2 layers of 1.5oz chop strand mat. I will put a vinyl floor in. After lots of thought , Gel coat and sand would be harder on bare feet.

Well I painted the inside of the boat with epoxy primer and 2k poly. Turned out fantastic. Was not concentrating on the floor. I sprayed the primer , sprayed 1 coat of 2k and rolled the top coat with 2k.

The last seats to restore. Not to sure of how to fasten them to the sides. They were through bolted and screwed from the back during boat production.
