Some assembly required. Looks solid to me. Keep the pics coming.

Yeah lots of assembly:) LOL It goes together just like playing with legos. Can't wait to actually fasten this thing together and see how solid she feels.

LOL thanks Kenny, progress is progress. One step at a time. I wish I had the skills to get my dash pieces as nice as yours turned out!

Re: '79 Starcraft SS 16 restoration

I spent the day replacing the right rear rotor on the Explorer and was happy to find that the brakes pads didn't need to be replaced. Wow that was one bad rotor...tough to get off:)

I also dragged this old girl back from the grandpa-in-law's farm and was happy to see that he got some new hubs, bearings, and wheels thrown together rather than welding a new axle(don't ask...this trailer is a real backyard operation...the old bearing were in backwards):D

More info in my AeroCraft thread...but this is delaying progress cause now I'm heading out fishing in the morning on the 12' rig.

And yes...I'm thinking about getting a new winch crank!

i like those earlier photos, the ones with all the neccesary tools on the sides of the boat. you know, soft drink, fishing rod, drill, screw drivers, fishing rods, pop rivet gun, assorted rivets, fishing rods. :p

i'm glad they said that about the trailer... cause i was thinking it LOL

Few things I am thinking about your last post...

1. Man, I really wish I knew how to work on brakes! My 3/4 ton Burb is killing me!

2. That trailer you have there is sure something! Looks sort of like a piece of machinery that I used to work on when I had a stint with GM. And then somebody just threw some tires on there to make it a boat trailer! Crazy man! Yah, that thing definitely has another purpose besides hauling a boat!

3. I think you are probably fishing right now as I write this, darn you! That is cool! Have fun!

Wait didn't you make some sort of vow or something that you wouldn't fish any more unless....

Or something like that? Or, did I hear that wrong?

Have fun man!

Cool looking trailer, Seems a little strange, but then again, I've see 14footer's hauled on 20ft dual axles ;)....Painting it yellow would 'set it off' lol

Brakes are easy, next time you need to do them just start a thread in the "non-boating technical topics" and be prepared:D

LOL This trip was all business...we only rolled out to test the new trailer.:D

I've got more yellow than I can handle already LOL but I do plan on painting both trailers and boats:D

Re: '79 Starcraft SS 16 restoration

I managed to get my last bow piece cut. You gotta love Supersports for letting you enjoy doing this twice:) I decided in the end to do a three piece bow bench design...after much debate and thinking.

I received an order of goodies from bass pro, and found a nice yellow rechargable spotlight. It will break within one year and get replaced like the last one. Made in China.

Re: '79 Starcraft SS 16 restoration

I have two gallons of epoxy resin and pump dispensers being shipped out...so I will need to wrap up all my plywood cuts in the next day or two:)

I'm considering beveling the edges of my ply like HSF did in certain areas. I still need to cut the two remaining bow bench pieces, cut out my ski locker, order a bow hatch cover, and cut that out.

I'm about to make some REAL progress:D

Most likely I will be taking some time off work(half-days if it's nice out;)) so I can crank up the resto in the next week or two.

I'd better not take to much time off or else I won't have vacation time left once the rig is done!

I think I need to get this wrapped up so I can go buy this boat and do this all over again:cool: (it would have to be a center console so I don't have two open-bow supersports)
