Think I made it to 12 sheets....got all the insulation foam up in between my cross members...should be able to finsh the drywall ceiling this week....got the new outlet boxes wired...lots of fun.....hope it doesnt fall in on me...was i. The teens this morning and evening, the insulation up without heat makes a big difference...thinking about the walls now....found mice have been living in the 8" or so of fiberglass insulation at the top of the walls...thinking I either need to cap them off completely ot put in some stainless steel screen....thoughts?

Looks like your getting the hard part done.. That's alot of rock to hang..
I would put something up to block the mice.. They can eat through just about anything..
If you don't have any dogs or cats around, put out some poison.. The kind that dries them up..

That is some cold weather your having.. Can't stand to much of it myself..

Your in 'new england' country now: Get a barn (garage) cat :watermelon: Being a man cave, a puma would be acceptable....

The heavier gauge 1/4" steel mesh may keep the varmint out, but they will best many an effort. If you do screens, get as heavy as you can find, and still be able to work with them & secure them really well.

Yep maybe the galv hardware cloth with the 1/2" squares . Now you can finish the drywall . Tape ,bed ,skim, and sand , kinda like fiberglass less the itch . :lol:

Bummer on the broken sheet...maybe useful as cut up filler pieces as needed...
Working by yourself hanging drywall on the ceiling...no fun at all...from my past experience, it is definitely worth renting a drywall jack...ah but what the heck, real men don't need no stinkin jacks...

Ya I aint rushing too much...and snow....big ole fat flakes today....got maybe an inch or so....felt like we were in a snow globe....

too many thngs in the way for a lift...but it would have been nice to have one...only 5 or 6 pieces to go for the ceiling...I forgot to count before I quit for the night....pimpin cave.....I can't wait!

Don't feel carped on Troop I've broke more boards than I can count on all our fingers and toe's .. :facepalm:
Heck I've had em tacked ,or so I thought, on the ceiling just to have the screws pull though and about knock me out ! :faint2:ound:

Thank you gents!

Friday update.....
2.5 sheets to go on ceiling....all the wiring has been redone...I just didn't trust it...some hot/nuetral wires swapped...knicks in wires...pushed into recepticles instead of screwed on...all good now though...

Congrats.. You should be able to knock out 2.5 sheets easily...
It's always better safe than burnt with electrical work...
Hope you were able to spend some thime with your dad today..
