Looking good there gone! I think your boat (and/or the owner) are having an identity crisis! waaaaay too nice for shootin' ducks...unless your weapon of choice is a DSLR

Had to google DSLR, lol. Not shooting a camera classic, my intent will be dinner! But I wanted to keep it semi clean lookin so the admiral wouldnt refuse to fish and cruise around in it.

I'm thinking feathers will tie it all in nicely 😁
I sorta cringed for half a second the first time I got fish poop on my nice fresh paint, then I remembered that I built the boat exactly for that purpose and we cheered!!!... And later had some tasty supper!

My progress will be slowing for awhile, but planning will continue. To achieve the above layout, Im thinking of framing it in aluminum angle or square tube or both. What size angle/tube you think is right for this type of thing? 1 ", 1 1/4", 2"? Im guessing 1/8th thickness?

I wont be welding anything so it will be solid rivets and pop rivets.

Woulda been a bad ride! Gettin a spray bomb tonight for extra precautions.

On the boat side, looks like im not moving anywhere till next summer now so motor purchase is still on hold. The father in law offered help in purchasing a motor with a generous amount, but I dont want to rush into it so im just patiently waiting and still trying to figure out the interior layout while paying down the usual bills and things. I check the forum daily still, everyones projects are lookin great!

Those widows are the only spider that makes me instantly want to kill them. Nasty things...

That's great you have a generous FIL to help you out with the new motor. Etec maybe?

Well I dont have a motor yet, but I picked up a bracket for a kicker off CL for 25$. Also picked up 2 more folding swivel seats from the guy.

Some sanding and fresh sealer, that kicker mount will look even more like new. Nice score for $25

Not much done lately, but I did get some more paint to redo the transom and I sketched some lines on it to plan more on how I am going to use this aluminum on it. Also got the hin plate riveted into place on the transom starboard side. 20150901_145447_resized.jpg

Anyone have one of these mounted on a 16 SS that can put a pic up so I can get an idea where it should go?

I would wait until the main motor is mounted. That way you can account for all clearances and if you use a steering connector proper spacing.

Good point there 64, Ill have to do that.

I did get half the boat camo'd this morning. I like the way it turned out, admiral doesnt though. Owell, not her boat, That just means I can maybe talk her into another one that I can make pretty for her.
