I didnt see dinosaurs yet, but there is a funny taste in my mouth. kinda chemical tasting. beer doesnt even wash it out.

The first coat of glovit is down!!! Big step since after this comes the transom and deck. (in that order). Ill put a second coat of glovit down tomorrow, then weather is sposed to be bad saturday. Sunday Ill be putting together a duck blind with a friend I made here hunting last year. Ill put pics up after the blind. Itll just be the framing though.

Know how you feel, some of us all seem close in progress, while others score on some bigger SC's makin us lil tinners drool and dream of the day. When you get started these guys from all angles have their advice and opininions which makes it nice. So if you think one way, and 3 or 4 others advise another way, when you meet in the middle you sorta feel like no matter what you got it right. Looking forward to seeing you start up another build here. There are a lot of great finished build threads I use for reference here.

Was the Jurassic Park reference for the bugs getting in the gluvit and looking like the mosquito's in the tree sap? LoL cause thats what happened. its not catastrophic though. Anyway, got the Z braces back in for the floor with not a pop rivet to spare. Im out. SO off to the store with a list.

Pop rivets
resin for transom wood
i sheet ply wood ACX
lil more 5200

find local metal shop for new transom cap and cut 5" stips of aluminum to cover rib ends. (not going with the angle. ill use that in further bench construction.)

and steak dinner.

Too funny hayko, the fumes arent bad at first, I shoulda set the fan up because after awhile it seems to just stick in the mouth. Im bad for not using gloves or respirators when recommended.

I highly recommend using safety equipment when the product calls for it. Ill pay for it in the future. And will probably never attempt a glasser for this reason.

Only thing I got was rivets and some screws. The local lumber yard didnt have acx ply wood so I passed. I wasnt exactly sure on the sealer so I passed on two locations for that. maybe next weekend. Im going back to a regular mon-fri schedule with no nights so progress will get a lil slower now. Im working on the rib ends now. Ill put picks up later.

The local metal shop machine to curve the aluminum for the transom cap is broke, so i wont be curving my transom, but making angles. Itll look the pics of the examples I have up earlier in the thread.

Oh, and steak and shrimp for din din. :D

I bent my own transom cap from some aluminum C channel and a redneck jig. Slow and steady...

When I took mine off it had very little curve to it.. You shouldn't have any trouble replacing it. Should be able to do it by hand..

I did these because my rib ends looked like swiss cheese. Should have a solid grip for new deck now.

With the rib end caps you put on there, will they make your floor sit higher at all, the way they rest on that ledge?

It shouldn't be a problem adding that AL to the rib ends as far as raising the deck goes, looks like it's only .080 thickness. One bit of advice when doing all that work inside, be very careful not to step between the ribs on the bottom with that fresh gluvit in there, it it flexes too much you'll crack it or make it loose it's grip on the hull. I use a scrap piece of ply to bridge the gap and put my wight on it when working inside to stay off the AL with my clod hoppers. .
