You guys give me way more credit than I deserve.

Nort Beach, the great boat restorer-tried to prime a 22 foot Deep V with 1 1/2 quarts of primer:rolleyes::confused:
Now I'm settin here waitin for the additional primer to arrive ..........Monday!

Yes, they did make the Mariner in 71.

So, I took this shot from my kitchen window the other day. Without the windshield on there it kinda sorta looks like a CC under the cover. I envisioned myself motoring along standing in the middle of the rig, that was a cool day dream for a minute.

Not to be for me though so I am living vicariously through your project here Clay!

Cheers!

Beautiful boat and work, NB!!!!!! Have you ever heard any negative comments Re: Zinc Chromate primer on an aluminum boat used in Brackish or salt water?
Did Pettit have any suggestions as to what to prime bare aluminum with????
Re: Comments on Max. HP you can put on you boat.....Yes, chances are the Coast Guard will never check or care what the HP rating is on your hull, and you can put on/in as much as you can afford...BUT....Rest assured iF you carry Insurance on your boat..Then Insurance Company WILL BE VERY INTERESTED and not pay a claim if your power exceeds the hulls limit!!!!
Can't wait to see you finish!!!!! Jim

I haven't heard anything negative about the ZC. I do know both of my painted boats had ZC below the water line only from the factory.

Just got done reading this from the beginning,...

Since I discovered this site I have been reading and dreaming and thinking I'm gonna need a project next winter,.......lol,...

Being a Midwesterner I have to wonder how your rig would look with a 150 tiller on the back,.....Lot's of room to fish!!!,.....

I look forward to following your progress on your project,...

Just found this thread and I'm gonna pay close attention to it as I was real close to converting my holiday to a CC! Looks like the 22 Islander's and the 22Holiday's have the same hull, if so you're gonna love it! They handle big water really well. I'm on the Delaware Bay almost every weekend and am pleasently suprised at how good a ride this tin hull delivers in the rough stuff. You're gonna have yourself a fishing machine! I top out around 31mph at 4100rpm with my 120hp motor, I bet you're gonna be around 45mph!

OK folks. Unfortunately, due to my current situation, it looks as if this project is soon to be headed to the recycler:(

Any of you folks who might be interested in picking up where I left off feel free to shoot me a PM.

Hey NB:

I'm so sorry to hear that you have to quit. Can you mothball the thing for now and then pick up later? You've done so much work it seems a shame to recycle it. It's quite a drive from BC or I'd come and take it off your hands,eh?

Bummer with your situation. I hope you can get it all worked out.

The project is secondary. Do what you have to do now.

All the best!

Yeah this really sucks but I kinda gotta circle the wagons here for a while and the first thing to go are the toys. That plus here real soon I'm not gonna have storage for all my little projects.

Bummer about everything turning for the worse. Hang in there.

Any of you folks who might be interested in picking up where I left off feel free to shoot me a PM.

How about that Seanymph dude trying to make a 46' offshore rig rig out of 3 ol' Starcraft's spackled and pasted together (or was it a 30'er out of 2 )... I bet he'd buy the 20'er off ya :D
