Boat is coming along nicely. Ill be following along! Nice find!!!!
Thanks ! If I had my way I'd be working nonstop until it was done. But a few hours here and there is all I can manage so that's what it's going to be.

My buddy at the lumber yard is on holidays still so I haven't picked up plywood yet. Still waiting for gluvit and some other things I ordered online. My seats are here now, picked them up today with some posts and hardware. Decking has also been ordered. Now I can think about a paint scheme to match.

Thanks! My wife told me when I bought this boat that I wasn't allowed to cheap out on seats. There is a company here in Saskatoon that has been building boat interiors for some major boat brands and fishing camps since the 80's. There was a seat on display that had been used at a fishing camp for a few seasons, it was comfortable and in very good condition, I went with that style. I got to choose the fabric and colors, which was not easy from the many samples. I'm happy with the result. They are similar (clone?) to the Garelick 692 high back that I saw on iboats

End caps removed. Top part of transom wood in poor condition from moisture

Yeap that's very common to have delaminating and rotten transom. The next issue is trying to get the inner transom AL skin cleaned up and all the corrosion removed. Then the skinning of the pitting with some JB or MT. Which brings me to the point of saying that you should really consider removing that SW from the boat to make all that 100 times easier and a more effective repair.

Had to cut the heads off of these bastard bolts after I pried the wood off the back of the transom.

Thanks Watermann ! The inner skin is in good shape just needs to be cleaned. I should take out the splash well, your advise is much appreciated. It will make life easier. I need to replace the transom before I flip right?

You don't have to replace the transom before flipping if you're leaving the gunnels attached, you can just cut a 2 x 6 or 2 x 4 to fit across the span and either bolt or clamp it in if you have C clamps.

Nice idea for the transom removal!

Nice work! Really cooking along. And just 4 sheets is good to know.

I want to leave enough space up front to add a seat post in the future. Also want to add a hatch to the bow area

Looking good Knezzer. Nice work making the most out of your sheets of ply, not a lot of scrap left when you're done.

Man oh man that bow section of decking is one of the toughest to cut, looks like a perfect job to me! :thumb:
