Bret, It looks great. I can't believe the finish you're achieving with a roller. the clolors look great together. Yeah, i could use some of the molding myself. I will eventually replace the two piece junky set-up someone put in it. I'm in the process of going with an inboard and need to do some trading before i move forward. I think i've got deal worked out.

Bret, you have enough window molding for 9 more boats, you better get busy!!!
I don't think anyone will deny you a = Master Shipwright :D title....... Super job on the Starcraft! WOW!!:)

Must be nice to have so many starcrafts, .... out here in vegas it is all fiberglass boats or 14' fishing dingies made of aluminum
did see 1 SC on CL, but is was newer and $$$$ exspensive

I got back at it tonight and got the firstcoat on the bottom, I had been putting off laying on my back as long as possible. Here are a couple pics of my dad's and my fishing trip. Some of our fish and our boat

Looks like great times, and those are some nice pike you got there. That has to be the best eating invasive good for nothing fun to catch fish that every fishery biologist hates. :D You can tell that I get to deal with biologists all day. They hate pike. I love to catch and eat them.

Re: 68 Starcraft Starchief 18' Cuddy Restoration

Lion - We love pike too:D Vegas - We used spoons and also caught some with shiners. Well I got back to some serious work today, pulled her out in the sunshine for the first time with the new paint job
Boatfourteenthweek016.jpg

And took her over to my friends to start installing some machinery. Got the gimbal housing mounted after replacing all the power trim hoses and shift cable
Boatfourteenthweek017.jpg

Boatfourteenthweek019.jpg

Then dropped the engine in and bolted her down
Boatfourteenthweek018.jpg

Now I've got to get the wiring, fuel and water lines, shift and throttle cables, battery and fuel tank mounted. Then finish the steering console, get the gauges mounted, seats and transom cover finished and installed, then polish the rest of the aluminum and get the rubrails, railings and hardware put back on. Oh and finish the upper windshield and install the lights and radio. What is it I hear? The last 10% takes 50% of the time?

That thing is lookin so sweeeeeet!. My kids think I'm crazy but there is just a coolness factor in these old boats that can't be matched.

Damn that boat looks good. Hopefully I can be as thorough as you as the urge to rush at times can be overwhelming.

It's all in the details and it shows in your work. Your paint job is amazing.

I just pm'd you about some of that windshield gasket taking up space over there.

I'll probably be painting this weekend and will be ready to bolt the windshield back soon.

MANNNNNNN, That looks great. It is amazing that you have gottn such a finish with a roller. Looks like all went in wll with the motor. I have found a motor and outdrive. You mentioned a template. I'd like to take you up on that offer. Let me know what i need to do. I've got to take out my old (inboard) transom and modify everything. What material (i.e. thickness and finish) did you use on your transom? Keep working at it, it looks great.
