WOW! wrfalpacas That is looking great. You are damn near done, making me jealous. That is what I had in mind for my paint scheme the white top blue center and white bottom like the 2009 model boats.
see this link for how I want to do my paint. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4RyXqq-lco not sure about the graphics on the side although they do look kinda cool but I was thinking the name for the boat should be there.

Love your boat. Looks like a great restoration! Looking at these old Starcraft boats brings back some good memories. My parents bought a new 1966 Holiday 18 in Sky Blue when I was 10 years-old. Dad had a 1960 Starfish with a 1963 Evinrude Starflight 75 with Selectric Shift. He traded the Starfish for the Starcraft, and had the Evinrude engine installed on the new boat. They owned that boat until 1990. Glad folks are saving some wonderful boats.

Finished the second and final blue coat except for the transom where I had some runs on the dang screwheads and will have to do a 3rd coat. My question to you is this: I decided to stripe the cabin, do I
A) Stop Here
B) Stripe the roof too
C) Also stripe the gunwales

Love the resto on the cuddy! Looking good there Cap'n!

I am attempting one myself on an 82 Sylvan "offshore?" that has suffered long neglect and **** poor repairs/rebuilds over the years.

Quick question, What is underneath supporting your bowdeck? (Roof of the cuddy where the hatch is)

Whatever mine had is long gone and all I have is the aluminum, way to weak to stand on.

Stripe the roof and gunnels.Gives it that finished look.Plus it looks racey and probably gives a knot or two on top end.

Continue up to roof, but stop halfway and make a 90 degree to the bow..
Do the same on the other side, just dont connect em..kinda a "L" leaning far forward..lol

Got the rear cabin wall in and door mounted today, got the first coat on the top stripe too (Rick- no the bottom is not done yet) (Kev- tempting on the striping idea  where have I seen a front to back stripe......:D) (DANZIG the bow is supported by a wooden framework under the sheetmetal. Here are the latest pics:

I had a friend with a panel cutting setup on his table saw cut things out of Baltic Birch Plywood, then I routed and sanded, then put 7 layers of clear spar urethane on all sides. I re-used the trim hinges and window, but bought a new lockset. All holes are sealed with 5200 so I hope it will hold up well.

Good deal. You shouldn't have any trouble with longevity, just don't neglect the wood when the urethane starts looking bad.Sanding and refinishing is easier than a complete redo.I think that will be a loooong time in the future tho.

Bret, I just love seeing you rip thru this thing. Personally, that's the approach I took to stay focused and GITERDONE!!!! I figured if I took my time I would start procrastinating and end up with a grass killer in the yard.

Really diggin the wood man!!!
