Re: '61 Crestliner Arabian Deluxe resto

I found the front emblem on another website for too much, but I couldn't resist. I will post that when it comes. Also, the other "stars" and 50HP decals are being fabricated and will be for sale on their website after we finish making mine. They did not have this particular model, and they had almost everything else! Anyway, I'll post how that goes too. My second coat of paint crackled up, looks like I'm gonna be a stripper again.

Sorry about the pending redo on the paint, but the emblems is VERY interesting. Looking forward to seeing them when they arrive.

Re: '61 Crestliner Arabian Deluxe resto

The new front aluminum emblem plaque came today. I could not be any happier with this part. It is the only thing that faces foreward on the engine. So the 23 bucks was worth it to me.

And here's what I sent to the decal people that are making the other decals. I hope that works out ok.

That new plaque is pretty sharp! It's going to be a very nice finishing touch. Very nice.

Really glad I got it! The folks that are making the rear decals from scratch, sent me the proof by email. OMG, did they do a great job!!!!! I cannot wait until they come in the mail. everything is painted and ready except for the front carb door. This door has a minor crack in the aluminum so I'm gonna get it fixed today. That is where the new emblem plaque I just got goes. Check out the proof below, awesome huh? I told them to go with the bottom one, cuz it has red like the front plaque. Oh by the way, they are DiscontinuedDecals.com - DiscontinuedDecals.com specializes in the Reproduction of Discontinued Decals

The decals came Christmas eve day. Decals received 1.jpgThey are the highest quality, awesome material and better than expected. The stars are applied to the plug cover, decals received 1 star applied.jpgbut the rectangular decal was too high. They are adjusting the height and resending a new set. They are also going to be making my Crestliner boat hull logos. The ones that were on the boat originally were RIVETED through the fiberglass! Anyway I was able to scan them for exact size after removing them from the boat.CL logo front 1a.jpg

Thanks JB, hope you're doing better. I am working on the port side seat base today. I already glassed in some wood supports in the base. I'll be posting the pix of that this afternoon. Gotta work tonite at the beach.

The carb cover from the motor shroud group stripped and ready for paint prep.carb cover stripped front.jpg

Also glassed in the wood on the seat base. PORT SEAT BASE GLASS DONE.jpg

I feel like I keep adding the knowledge, the tools, materials and all the related cans of stuff, so I am a boatbuilder. It kind of snuck up on me, but I know why you guys do this. It is sooooooo addicting!

You used epoxy for the added wood in the seat bases?

Nope, poly resin and fiberglass surfboard cloth
Just doesn't look like there's glass over the wood blocks in these pix:

Yeah I know, it completely dissappeared in the picture. But it's in there, I promise. :) you can see the edge of the one on the right about two inches towards the center. Thanks for the concern, I really appreciate that.

By the way, how do you make the photo so big in your post?

Re: '61 Crestliner Arabian Deluxe resto

To repost your attached pix (which has to be clicked to open, and you can either view the text of a post or the pix, not both at the same time) I just opened it, and right mouse click your attached image, choose copy image, then close the pix, and right mouse click to paste it into my post. Many internet images can be reposted that what. But some images can't. Others only remain viewable as long as the original linked pix is still active. Some CL images expire when the ad expires.

Generally to post big pix IN my posts, I use Photobucket & paste the IMG code next to each pix. The code looks like this:
IMG]http://i1246.photobucket.com/albums/Duracraft/00p0p_8DDJGV3GEUV_600x450_zps4330620e.jpg[/IMG

and using that code to post images, make the images appear IN my post rather then as attachments that must be opened:
00p0p_8DDJGV3GEUV_600x450_zps4330620e.jpg

Big & easier to see, but more importantly, they are IN the post so you can easily reference back & forth between pix & text, particularly helpful if you are looking at or comparing several different pix....
