snapperbait,

Bingo!-except one. The 5.0 was not a "modular OHC" engine. It was the venerable-302.

Nice job!

Coupe,

68 and sunny here.

Sure, go ahead about the Y's.

Anyone remember the 534 cid Super Duty truck engine? I think it was also a 472 cid.

Well, it's a beautiful blue sky here too. :p :p
It's only 40, but for mid December, that's not bad for this latitude.

I think the 534 was a horse of a different colour. F650 and F750 usage.

Yeah, the 401, 475, 477 & 534 Fords were different from everything else. Typical Ford idea of the time [1958-1981]. Must have kept the parts guys on their toes!

Re: 352 fords att coupedeville

It really, really does mean Ford Edsel. I only found that out myself a couple of years back. I was talking with an Edsel collector - he has 6 of them - and has a huge collection of literature and books on them. I was wondering about the E-475 designation, and it was him who explained it, and the meaning of FE to me. This guy had been driving and collecting them since the early 60's. And if it isn't, then why is the other V8 engine series of 1958 known as the MEL family - the Mercury, Edsel, Lincoln engine group? And the FT is the Ford Truck engine. Would it not be logical for the FE to be called the FC then? For Ford Car?

I built a 59 Chev p.u., full deal... right down to polished stainless bolts on everything. It had balanced 406 SBC, Merlin, Lunati, Isky and Crane 'inards'. Anyone who says trucks can't win a race because of traction problems are WRONG. Nothin' came close... even stuff that should of beaten it.
Thanks, it was a lot of work! I bloody sold it to keep my bloody house after a bloody seperation... bloody hell. (there was no blood really :) ) Depressing to see it go. The guy that bought it is looking after it very well though, it went to a good home.

Haven't seen that one... when did they do that? I've seen an auto chassis lube by Ford.
