Fuel pressure should be good brand new pump.

This is the operative word, but not necessarily the reality. If something in the fuel system has a restriction, then you will not know without a test for pressure.

yes, on mine its exhaust out and cooling water out through the same manifold. the exhaust and water are passing thru separate chambers but the walls separating them can rust and get leaky allowing water to flow back into the exhaust.

Ok I’ll have to try and get the fitting to test pressure. I have a friend that can test it for me.

Reason I ask about the intake manifold is because about a year ago I had to replace the right side head as it was cracked and when I was putting the intake manifold back on. I noticed an area that looked like a crack but could not really tell if it was or not.

It will vary depending on how large and where the crack is. Don't see a crack in the intake causing it to stop running after 30 minutes, and then wait and be able to restart and do it all over. If crack was in a water jacket water gets in a cylinder and can cause hydrolock, if it creates a vacuum leak then it starts running worst but will keep running

AllDodge In post #53 now it runs and after 40 minutesit starts surging but never turns off just rpms go from 650 to 200 and so on. I guess I didn’t explain it clearer. Sorry for the confusion.

Sorry I meant less time before it began sputtering and running rough but it didn’t turn off.

if there was a crack in the water jacket you would likely start seeing water in your motor oil. if not then probably not the problem i would think.

Ok so today I removed the intake manifold and found 2 big cracks in it. Soooo I guess I found the problem. I’m ordering a new intake.
