Rare? As in the availibility of parts for the OMC Stringer?

Or rare as in they didn't make a 23' Holiday (22')?

Or rare as in these boats with obsolete drivelines that need a total rebuild are rarely this expensive?

Or rare as in the V5? Yah, that has to be it!

Yes a 350 mercruiser would have been nice and I was pretty sure it was a 22 , but a 22 foot v5 is definitely rare in our part of the country.

Wow a 22 V5, like you say not real common up here. Too bad it has the dreaded leg of death, that takes $1500 off the price right there. John if you bought that one you would have to put a swing-away bow on it with the swing-away tongue to get it in your garage. LOL

Those floors look awesome budski! There's no way I'm putting carpet back down in mine after seeing your pics man. Will you please give me the details on that vinyl? Im pretty sure that's the way im goin now. I hope you don't mind. I just really didn't like the carpet at all and that vinyle looks perfect. Great work in my opinion!

Thanks Guys, only dry fitted so far, Maryhannaj I'm using Nautolex marine vinyl, you can goggle it, more pricy than carpet but well worth it I think, you can buy it online, I get it from a wholesaler here in Winnipeg.

Hey thanks a ton for the info both budski and dozerll. Im very impressed with that deck! Is is textured kind of non-slip type rough or more like slick home vinyl? It just looks to me like it has a grip like finish from the pics. Also, was it difficult to install? It looks like you managed your corners and your seat base mount holes really well. I can't really see any folds or anything like that.

I think that much progress would have taken a few months for me. Looks awesome. Will be watching the rest.

I used out door carpet glue, but I wrapped the vinyl around all the edges, applied the glue on the edges and about 2 inches on the other side then stapled underneath with stainless steel staples.

Hey budski. I was goin over your pics again and I noticed that there was a rigid material over your gunwhale foam sealing it in before you removed it. There are also a series of holes along the top in the material. What's the material made of? Are the holes usually covered as well?
I'm asking because on my boat, the gunwhale foam was left exposed and I plan to seal it off along with other exposed areas. I want to do this wthout addind a bunch of extra weight. I heard that boats like yours are very lightweight and I'm exploring all possible options. Thanks man.

Hi maryhanna, that material is aluminum, and it was covered with carpet, the holes are where they injected the foam flotation, I hope this helps.

Carpet looks real good John, your going to have to come out here to show me how to do that. What are you using for carpet and glue?
