Also got the starboard side hull waxed today with the woody Triple XXX wax. Started waxiing the bottom of the hull also. Tomarrow is suppose to be pretty nice here after morning, so hope to get some of the inside of the boat done.

liken that anchor and it's new edition:D

you might wana consider addin a stainless piece up under the pulpit where the anchor rests. that will help that beautiful teak from getting rubbed out from the anchor vibrating there all the time, it will make quick work on your finish. thats what i'm thinking anyway.

i like your pulpit with the drop thru, i am jealouse, my pulpit is all fiberglass so i gotta get up there and pitch it over, lol
the drop thru isn't really possible for me without alot of fabbing, and thats definately not in the cards this year, so i'll just have ta gawk at yours:facepalm::D

Little rubber piece, or maybe a chunk off a dollar store cutting board. That you could custom shape to be a perfect fit to contour of the pulpit & the profile of the anchor:)

Bright & shiny pix are very distracting.....Not

unlike the hooter's wing commercials--What da mean they serve food?:D

After seeing the way the boat sparkles, I realized you will never be able to take it out on the road...day or night...

In the daytime, you will cause accidents by either blinding or completely mesmerizing other drivers, and at night, with the lights on, planes and helicopters are gonna crash when they try to land on a moving airport runway...

Then again I guess you could get a complete hull suit for it to use during transport...:p

Dude, I don't think a brand new boat in a showroom looks that nice...KUDOS!!!

Not all vinyls are created equal, he should have used a marine grade which will hold up better to the elements. I ran into this at work once but with powder coating, the interior grade started fading and peeling after a short time. Looks like that is what happened to yours. Keep up the great work.

Yeah, i thought about some starboard that I have laying around but i think a nice simi hard rubber piece will work better. I have plenty of shiny shots coming, hope everyone isn't getting bored.;) Did someone say HOOTERS!! I need to tow the boat over there and see who wants to go for a ride, on the boat that is,lol

Thanks GT, it is hard to see it in the rearview when it is reflecting the truck back at me.:D

Yeah, thanks man, this was suppose to be a high grade exterior vinyl. Thee other strips and the white are fine other than some road rash. The gray is crispy fried! The guy that did them use to be the best here in our town, he does all the expensive jobs and complex stuff. His work is great usually, so hopefully he will stand behind his work. It seriously will be the only thing that looks bad when I take it to him on the entire exterior of the boat,so we will see. If he doesn't stand behind it, he won't be doing the new enclosure for sure!!!

Today was a interesting day to say the least. Here is the progress pics and whats happening.:)

Lots of waxing today. From bow to the wa steps is done including the cabin.

Starboard

Port
woodywax2012253.jpg

Also removed fire extingishers and live well hatches and went to work on the stern areas. I do this every year because it gets dirt gummed up under and behind the hatches/lids. Taking them off lets me compound and wax, good for the season.

After

Testing bait well operations. Thumbs up!

Getting there. Next year these hatches will be getting recored to make them more stout. Also found that the starboard side well has a leak into the hull. A little caulkig will take care of it this season. I do love my baitwells. There huge.

woodywax2012282.jpg

Put back together, only thing left back here is the engine cover, all it needs is wax.

woodywax2012288.jpg

Even compounded then waxed the fire extingishers before reinstalling. I would like these to be stainless eventually.

woodywax2012251.jpg

Have to still wax the cockpit area but its looking pretty good.

woodywax2012297.jpg

Spent some time today really detailing the windows, got some rain X applied to finish things off.

Here is some overall pics of her cleaned up some.

woodywax2012317.jpg

I like this pic because it shows all the teak plating well together.

woodywax2012309.jpg

Like this one because its got my flags in it.lol
woodywax2012310.jpg

I highly recommend these flag holders to everyone! There great! I special ordered an amercan flag that wasn't to big or to small, its perfect. I have one more flag going up under the Marines flag.

woodywax2012334.jpg

Tomarrow will be remove all hardware from hardtop, compound and wax hardtop and reinstall all hardware with 1 hour silicone. Will be alot of time to do this because I have alot of stuff up there. But it needs to be done before I rott the top off the boat.

And then the hail came!!

woodywax2012385.jpg

Then it was the hail core moving in.

woodywax2012412.jpg

then it was me running frantically as I had seen what was coming, trying to get everything buttoned up before all "HAIL" broke loose. Sorry no pics of the frantic panic!!
Then the Hail.

First just a little.

woodywax2012434.jpg

Then a little more!!

woodywax2012441.jpg

After math was this, largest hail I have seen in this area and looked like snow there was so much of it. Sounded like a hundred people throwing rocks at the windows/house.

all the best

I'm not taking the hardtop off, just the hardware. I am sealing every little screw and large screw that goes through that top. I hit it all today and the top is in good shape and sealed up nicely .

I also moved the side rod holders I had mounted on the hardtop to a better location where I don't hit it when going around the wa steps.
Same location, just in the cage instead of under the cage. should work great.:)
and yes, Hooters serves food and now I'm craving me some wings! That guy up there ^^^did it!

Re: 1990 Chris Craft 254 Seahawk ( Refurb and upgrades)

Ok guys, like I said, the hardtop was getting a makeover. I removed every screw that holds the top down and all the screws holding the antennae mounts, radar, etc etc. Sealed everything with the 1 hour caulk I like so much and reinstalled everything.

I found that starbrights black streak remover really made short work oof cleaning the actual top and the spot light up. I use to compound then wax this top, but the streak remover was quik and awesome.

I used some uv resistant wax by seasense to wax her since I ran out of my woody wax after 3 seasons.

Cleaned up and sealed. Hard to get a good pic during the day because the sun and the white top. Also still have to clean the top portions of the antennaes that were up for cleaning the top.

woodywax2012506.jpg

Cleaned up the interior of the top to, this was filthy and the streak remover really did a nice job on that too. Still have to shine up all the aluminiminuminum.

woodywax2012514.jpg

Mounted the last placard required by the coasties. Hate the location, so it might get moved. If i can put it in the cabin then that is where it will go. Will check with the coast gaurd reserve guy when he comes to do my inspection.

woodywax2012500.jpg

Also had to unclog one of my macerators today. That took some time and is always a pita.

Once the sun went down I got a better shot of the hardtop, lol

With regard to your question about your Waste Placard, boats over 26 feet are required to display them in a prominent location (exposed near the garbage receptacle is good). Your placard size and language is good and you can relocate it to a spot you find more suitable.

The gloss you're getting is amazing, Budd. A deep rich shine. Sorry to hear about your issues with the gray vinyl.
