Yeah, radio shack will probably have something to extend the signal or something. The very first control box I have has a sensitivety setting, like a knob on the bottom, also a place to plug in a stereo. So what I thought was the same as I had really was not. Anyway, it will all work out in the end. I like the remotes, think it is the cheesy wire with the infared light that has to have a direct signal that sucks.

Dad has had all the testing done, he was cleared for surgery and as far as they can tell, it has NOT spread. So as good as news as he could have gotten at this point. He will be going into surgery Thursday.

agreed , its prolly the eye thats at least part of the problem(mine is direct wired into the ir controller) could prolly splice an extension into it tho:eek::D.

great news that it hasn't spread, chin up there lord of the light:D, i am sure your support is helping him greatly.
my thoughts and prayers, as well as my families, are with you. we are all hoping for a sucsessful day thurs, and a speedy recovery.

Can you show your wiring and controller set up? I just got in the two spindle of lights & remote. Looks like I have to cut one of the leads off to expose the wires to screw into the remote. Was wondering your we're the same set up. Also great news about your dad:D

I'm looking forward to the varnish work you do on the teak.

Also sorry to hear about your father, but hope all turns out well!

Both you and your Dad are in my prayers, Budd. I know you're a tough guy, which tells me that your Dad is too. Keep a positive attitude and set aside all fear, both of you, I have no doubt your Dad will beat this.

He will be feeling rough for a few days, recovery should be 3 to 5 days in the hospital, that is with no complications etc.

Toy not really for the boat, but to make the boat safer.

He has earned a trip at the helm, but he earned that many times over through the years being the dad that he has been. I think he will be more comfortable in his custom two story houseboat, lol Its nicer than my home!

Just happy he will be able to continue to enjoy his latter life. Hope he is around for along time to come . :)

Thanks again for all the well wishes. It has been much appreciated and yes, it is crunch time on the boat!!!

Re: 1990 Chris Craft 254 Seahawk ( Refurb and upgrades)

When i stop at the boat store today, i had no idea what I was going to buy, I just knew I needed something, lol

Anyway, I had been looking for the best trailer jack I could find because simply put, the one that was stock on my trailer sucked and had started to fail near the wheel. basically the weight was crushing the metal into the wheel. Anyway, I wanted an oversized one, so I would have plenty of lift and also plenty of muscle.

I found it! :D This thing is BAD AZZ!

2000 pld capacity and lifts 25 inches but the wheel is like 8 inches tall already and wide. When you crank on it, you don't even feel like its lifting anything. Amazing! Something so simple yet so needed.

This is my old set-up. I had to use a 6 by 6 block just to get enough height to drain the boat and to be able to load on to the truck. No more block needed ever!

This is what I replaced it with

This is what they look like next to each other.

Check out the wheel and how wide it is. Awesome.cool:

Hey man, post up a pic of your rf control box so I can see what you have. Will probably be able to help you better. Here is the wiring going into one of my control boxes. Left to right would be negative/ground wire, positive wire, then the coded color wires in there desinated spots. I have two strips going to this controller. Hope that helps.

Its really the only reason I bought this style, was because the wires just basically get stripped at the ends and installed in the top in the designated/marked spot for that particular wire. No splices at the control box. These control boxes are very cheap by the way to buy. ;)

Last but not least, I didn't know this before, but the little green connector thingamagiggy at the top of the control box is removable, so you just pull it off, wire all your wires into it, then just push it back on to the control box. Pretty nice when working under the helm.

HALLELUJUH is right, thankyou sir! Now he just needs to pull through the recovery and were home free I hope.

Its funny, because it almost looks to big for the trailer, but its awesome! lol The boat is always wheel chocked, even when it gets backed down a ramp. rubber wheel chocks only. ;)

Looks like you, your dad, your family & the boat trailer all got a 'lift' today! BIG Congrats again!
Thanks JB
