Carp, your gonna set off the UFO detectors for miles around every time you tie up or float & turn those on. Esp w changing colors....

Again, most excellent layout & execution w/ the teak.

Is there still any teak at the secret teak storehouse? I might be in the market for a pc for a new acquisition.

Lmao, UFO, "Unidentified FLOATING object"! :D There still some teak here but I still have an interior to do:facepalm:

Well, I don't want you to have an 80% interior. More accurately, I guess what you said before was that you asked your source to call you if he found more, not that there was more. I was hoping you left some behind at the source, that secret storehouse. I seem to be fuzzy on details here lately.... Think, look, & research 1st. Then ask questions, not the other way around:facepalm:

Yep that's exactly what I was thinking. In a foggy, bend on the Ohio River you'll certainly cause a stir up & down the river:cool:

Lol, the guy hasn't contacted me about any more yet. I hope he does.

I can see it now. Coast gaurd, this is Captain so and so, we have an unidentified floating object here, it looks like it is on fire, lol

If i'm ever sinking, I'll just tell them to look for the flashing lights. Now I need a stripper pole,:p

I typed it & deleted before I posted my last msg:

I thought you might ought to limit the red LED usage. All that red glowing light might attract the wrong element, and they might be upset to find there is NO stripper pole.

Your sig pix seems to suggest there might be plenty of room for a couple pairs of dancing lucite heels. I shall speak of this no more:D

Lil Buggy, Thanks man, Already been thinking about your project. Are your cushions in the cockpit area all one piece. I will send you a pic here shortly that shows what I'm thinking. I have a few ideas, but give me 24 hours.;) I just saw the pics you posted up top.

I hope to have the other side done atleast by the end of this coming weekend. I will post up as soon as it is all lit up for sure.

Thanks man, but this boat is really fricken sooo simple to get wires run. Its one of the reasons I love this boat. Everything is removable via screws, the gunwales, the boxes under the helm seats, the helm itsself, it all comes out within seconds. Also won't be installing lights until I get the rgb lights in the mail.

I should be able to poke a small wire hole right under the trim and reach it easily. Won't even need a fish pole, but you are more than welcome to come hangout! Just beware I still have some scraping to do and an extra scraper, lol

I thought the same exact thing and was gonna' pull the same gag :D - - CC, you need to see if you can figure the satellite pass and hit the lights! What a cool shot that would be on Google Earth!

..gunwales..

Caught it. Good job! LOL :D

Boat looks fantastic. Love the lights, they look great. The glow on the walk around is perfect. You'll need to wire a red "X" on top so you don't get any swabbies landin' helicopters on deck.

Re: 1990 Chris Craft 254 Seahawk ( Refurb and upgrades)

BTW - you finished your teak as opposed to just oiling it, correct? How did/does that work out on the swim platform? Is is slick when wet? And ... did you build your platform or just refinish it?

I've got one on the back of my boat that was scarfed from a donor boat. I was thinking about building a replacement platform and I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to do on it yet.

I am sure the tek will be slick when wet. Kinda a tradeoff thing. Will just have to be more careful. If i have to I will find a clear non skid tape to put over the top of some areas on the platform.

The platform was a used platform I bought off ebay. I restored it some before and teak oiled it. Then refurbed it again but more detailed before varnishing.

even with teak oil on the teak, it was slick when wet. i kept oiling it so it stayed slick. The only real way for teak to be non skid is to not oil it and let it grey out, but then you get the algae growth, uggh.

If your is in good shape, i would just sand her down and restore what you have. Teak will look brand new if sanded down. Do you have a pic of your platform? By the way, the process of all the teak restore is back on this thread somewhere, lol

You can see the platform here. Second photo down - the center section opens up so you can get to the drive easily. But every slat of that thing is a separate piece attached to the frame below. It's solid (holds my 230# carcass with no trouble), but soaks teak oil in within hours. I lightly sanded it down once already, but not too much.

Nice looking boat man! Very clean looking. I would say the teak is in great condition. I would take it off and sand it all down. Don't be afraid to get aggressive, 100 grit is fine until you see the light color come back, then just sand it with 220 and it will look beautful. If your going to keep applying teak oil, I suggest the first coat be allowed to soak overnight, put it on kinda heavy. Then recoat and let sit for another 24 hours. Then one light coat to seal the top.

Allowing it to soak in is key. I just got tired after years of oiling teak, It was time to give the spar varnish a shot. I hope it lasts.
