thanks, I have 3 issues and ya'll woulda been proud of my mcguiver skills , got on water went to shift couldn't get shifter to go into gears that damn spring loaded gizmo, anyways I sat on dock and made a whole new piece out of nothing and tried it , worked flawlessly ,
issues got left now besides overall finishing is
1. gps speedo not working
2.oil pressure , clogged oil filter maybe " fingers crossed" gauge red around 15 and never moved so I think sending unit might be clogged up as well , oil still looks brand new!
3. check steering, felt odd but cant say there is really a problem
besides the oil problem it was a total thrill to feel her get up on plane it was a struggle before I realized timing was out I did a on dock adjustment and it took about 5 seconds to reach full plane and once she did it she was moving along like a pro, was I doing 80? no, but I feel confident I was doing around 40 and that's fast enough for me and a 17 foot boat of this design.

update gauge fixed derp I never hooked second positive to it !
steering is fine just felt odd but on trailer I had full motion , guess I thought this boat should turn sharper but that makes sense that it don't ,I am getting full range of motion through outdrive
pulled the new sending unit cleaning it and going to change oil and filter and see , I also had 5 qts in it instead of 4 so probably was muckin the oil up with air.

Micky, just got a little caught up on your build, but will have to read in more detail...you have some amazing skills building that entire enclosure from scratch. Looks super unique and classic! Super cool congrats on getting her splashed, like your "drive it like you stole it" comment in your video lol. Great stuff!

on another note plexiglass =bad idea , crap scratched with the cleaner! I am going to have to go glass sooner then later , but I wonder if the glass can flex enough for top windows or will I have to modify frames to be strait , that would prolly look silly ,

I remember being told to wash plexiglass with pledge. The guy replacing the garage doors at a shop I used to work at many moons again told us this trick. Not sure if it works but it is worth a shot. Might be cheaper to buy new plexiglass then rebuilding the window frames. They will eventually scratch though. My phones otter box screen is proof of that. These phone covers don't like spackle dust. The screens are junk within the month. I just tell everyone I bought the frosted screen option. Lol

The green pirate pee is gone!

I think we used pledge and clean t-shirts on the aircraft at the museum I worked at but that was a different product than plexiglass.

When I was taken flight lessons my flight instructor uses pledge on both his planes. They both have plastic front windshields. Piper Cherokee, and Cessna Skyhawk. He said it helped with fogging and didn't scratch. Those planes were older than me, lol.

Yeah, I really don't think the Lowes plexi is the same as the airplane product. They both defintely scratch though. Pledge has a lot of wax so you have a buffer between the plexi and the abrasive material you're cleaning off. My boss was a nazi that you sprayed onto the towel itself so you didn't accidentally wax a flat paint but I'd spray directly onto the plexi if you replace it so you know you're not pushing a wave of material onto dry plexi. I'm sure your windows will last long enough for you to get a season in :)

https://youtu.be/hu3CiLRXmQY listen , I don't know if its flywheel or what but it is very quiet at low rpm and gets louder but at high rpm you cant hear it over engine and engine runs great , I took a poor mans stethoscope " wooden broom handle" along entire engine and man she sounds great internally , thoughts?
