Well, I agree it doesn't look like there was ever any previous work done on your boat. You'd just think there would be no way Sylvan would let this:
reach the sales floor & be sold to a customer....
I didn't see this pix posted above anywhere else to try & reference where it is in the hull....
Is it the final deck piece in the bow, I think you mentioned that piece was 'only' 1/4" ply & this certainly looks like 1/4" to me.
This big of a hump wasn't noticeable before you tore out the adjacent decking?
Of course WOG found the large plastic wrapping, from a huge package of toilet paper, was originally used as waterproofing for the seat foam, by the lineman that built his scavenged donor seats for the Blue Flamingo project. So yeah, anythings possible, that's why i said it might be factory, but I doubt it.
I'd like to think it shouldn't have been, ya know..
