Welcome aboard CJ, yea, this thread is growing lol...and thanks, ive been following your build for a while now, awesome work!...I love the old Glastron styles....If George Jetson had a boat, it would have been a 60's Tron ;)

Looks like it should be pretty toasty in there ....
So what happens when the snow starts to biuld up on the roof ? Ya think the plastic will hold ok ?
Man if you were closer I could have given you a pile of slightly used therma ply . I saved some for myself but we threw a bunch in the dumpster .

Hmmm looks reasonable, but I don't know enough about your weather to make any predictions. Hopefully it gives you a comfy place to make some progress this winter! I'm looking forward to seeing some more of your handy work!

The roof will hold a decent snow load, its got 2x4 rafters, 48" OC, then 5/4x2 purlins, at 24" OC, I still have to add the gussets the modular factory gave me, they attach the rafters to the ceiling joists.

I keep telling you to move to jersey!.....nah, on second thought, that's just torture! :D....besides, im coming to FL one of these days...I can feel it in my bones

The plastic held up the snow on the bubble, but the PVC couldn't..we'll see....if not, I may have to go with the rigid panels...

The winter weather is pretty simple here Arch...its cold, windy, and snowy, and feel like it will last the rest of your life..lol....anyway, work resumes this Saturday.."weather" or not! Im just glad I can leave my tools and supplies laying about again ;)

As a precaution, I used simpson hurricane z clips on the rafter ends, so uplift wont be a problem, the load goes down to the concrete footings..

Simpson made some money on my barn, lol! There is a lot to be said about being able to just stop and not have to pick everything up.......I get a lot more done during the short work sessions that way.....or maybe it is just the kid in me!

hear ya, I needed so many to meet the 120 mph wind load, I was buying them by the case..so I had a lot left over to donate to the boat gods..they do work well tho..

and yep, I waste more time running back to the barn for things I need, then actual work time....im gonna bring a table or two in there, to roll out cloth and such....plus all the disposables.

That is one nice looking terrarium! You'll get some extended time in there this season. Looks real good Zool!

That's not a temporary structure, that's the Sistine Sportfish, the Boat Mahal, or perhaps the Cathedral of Zool.

Yeah , if it were me I'd have to seriously think about making it permanent after the boats done ....
