Haha, jr, you are cracking me up. Saturday morning I plan on doing a final fit/trim of the rear wall and rear deck pieces. I will install the braces and pre-drill all of my holes for mounting. I will be using T-nuts to install my deck and wall to the braces I install on the boat. These will allow me to use bolts/screws to fasten everything but still give me an easy removal when necessary.
Goals for Saturday:
1. Double check every hose, fitting, bolt etc on the engine.
2. Install/fit the rear wall and rear casting deck. Pre-drill holes for T-nut installation. Cut out speaker holes in the upper corners. Also cut and build the door to the engine compartment. The door will be held in place with 4 Stainless barrel latches. Foam will be installed at the seams to give a nice seal for less noise in the boat at speed.
3. Install my livewell tank and get all plumbing set up along with the pump and installed for livewell.
4. Install my starting battery and both battery boxes.
5. Install my speedo kit onto the transom and connect to console.
6. Route and secure all wiring and cables to their permanent place.
7. Cut and fit my side trim pieces from the wall to the consoles of the boat. This includes the bow side trim pieces. Pre-drill holes for T-nuts.
8. First coat of paint on all wood pieces.
9. Buff/Polish entire boat with Meguiars Boat Compound so I can get an idea of the overall look of the gelcoat.
10. Install the new carpet from the floor up the side of the hull between the consoles and the engine wall.
Goals for Sunday:
1. Second coat of paint on wood pieces.
2. Cut and paint new 2x4 running boards and 1/2" plywood fender backs for the trailer.
3. Cut pedestal seal bases and install driver and passenger seats.
4. *****IF THIS LIST IS COMPLETED EARLY ENOUGH IN THE DAY, I JUST MIGHT BE FORCED TO DRIVE TO THE CLOSEST LAKE AND LAUNCH THIS BABY*****
To be fair and honest-I will be taking advantage of some help from my father and a buddy during these two days.
I hope to finish this list over the weekend so the next week can be spent laying the carpet on the rear deck, bow deck and trim pieces. This can be done at my house while I'm drinking a beer in the garage after work in the evenings. Once the carpet is installed on the trim, I will be installing blue LED strip lighting to give the boat a subtle glow for night time use that doesn't strain your eyes. All of these parts are at the house ready for install-I just need to get it done.
