Wood, Yes it is worth a lot. I think the biggest reason I didn't have to fight for it to be done, was the mechanic saw the nut still loose on the left side. Even then, the mechanic is an awesome guy who values his work. I told him I would continue to refer work to the shop.

Integrity is a wonderful thing that no-one can take from another person. It must given away. Great outcome!

So as my boat is sitting in the driveway, begging for me to work on it....my back is telling me "hahaha hell no you won't". Pinched nerve and a disc trying to slip is not something to mess with. Hopefully I'm back at it by next week.

OUCH!! sorry to read that, easy does it....
This stuff was outlawed by the NFL back in the early 70's because of its ability to mask pain, but is widely used amongst professional athletes today. Farm animals and race horses primarily because the FDA won't approve it for human usage  but that's a whole nother topic....
Google <<< DMSO >>> highlight and right click for dummies like me
It's about $8 a pint at any feed and tack supply. I use it all the time for sprains and sore muscles; maybe that's why I can't think straight?
But DO NOT THINK THAT YOU'RE HEALED BECAUSE THE PAIN IS GONE!!! it does speed up healing due its anti-inflammatory properties; muscles still need time to recover

My back is feeling better and I have big plans for next week!!! Stereo and speakers will be installed, blue lights will be wired up and installed permanently, the bow trim will be finished and installed and the carpet will be installed.
I would work on it this weekend, however, I'm going fishing all weekend. Playtime comes before work time when the boat is ready for the water.

So I was pretty busy the last couple days. Blue LEDs are installed all around the boat. Stereo is installed and I also installed some white LEDs on the Bimini top. After fishing Saturday night, I found the need for some overhead light for inside the boat while setting up fishing poles etc. Also started the process of fiberglassing my swim/fishing platform for the rear. I decided to glass the bottom only, paint the sides to match the boat and stain the top to match the wood trim on the boat already. I will seal the wood once it's stained also. I'll post more pics later.

Got more done this weekend. The interior carpet is installed, both fishfinders are installed and I designed my own rod holder setup. Using a stick of 1-1/4" pvc, 10 pvc caps, bolts and a 1x4 I made 10 vertical rod holders in front of the engine bay door. Once the rods are in place, a bungee cord runs across the front of the rods and holds them in place. This setup allows me to access everything in the boat and still fish from the rear platform. I have already tested road use and it works great.

I really like this build, I think I'm going to use some of your ideas on my Winner, I was wondering how to convert a ski boat to a fishing boat and I think you nailed it.
I was wondering though what you do for extra seating if you have more than two people on board?

Thanks for liking the design. I mashed up some different boat styles and made my own. As for seats, 52Ford got it right. The cooler is a 150 qt (48" long). Center console boats use coolers as seats so I decided to go that route also. I can singlets my seat 3 people on the cooler and have already done so. Also, the cooler works as a perfect step to get onto the rear platform.

Today, I'm out picking up the final pieces for the rear platform installation. The platform is ready for install but I still needed the bracket material. I chose 1-1/2" steel angle 1/8" thick.

The brackets will be made in the shape of a triangle. Each will be bent to the angle needed on all three corners then welded together. I will only cut one side of the angle to allow the bending.

I plan on making 4 brackets, 2 on each side of the outdrive. I chose this material for flexibility while cutting and bending while having plenty of strength. Once shaped and welded, I will spray them white prior to installation.

More photos to come.

I decided to put some holes in the platform to shed a few pounds, allow water draining and also.....built in fishing rod holders šŸ˜Ž

Found a slight problem with my bracket design since the rear of the boat has an inset design. New design worked great tho. Using a piece of angle, I cut and shaped it to fit the rear lines of the boat and installed using 8 1/4" bolts.

Next, two pieces of angle were cut and shaped to reach from the transom to the rear edge of the platform.

A single piece of angle runs the width of the platform and is bolted to the platform.

The two pieces were welded to this plate and then bolted to brackets on the transom. I bolted the braces to the transom for strength and durability. There is more strength on 2-1/4" than 1/4".

I have removed everything to paint but will be installed in about a week. Once it's reinstalled, I'll take more photos and post.
