Nice work.. You gonna pop a roof vent in there? It will help. You can put a cover over the roof vent so it can be opening when raining out etc. Keep the inside cool in the warmer days

Thanks Dez, I was considering it, but wasnt sure how hard it would be to put in. Figured It was something we could add later if we think we would want it. The admiral also started talking about a skylight, which could be possible. Just all a matter of cost haha

Skylights are ok but you cant get the ventilation. I’ll bet she would be much happier with the vent. Get one with a white lid if ya want to let more light in. You have 2 windows now and that will for sure be a fair amount of light.

Hahahahhahaha. I just went to the amazon link. Ya that’s a roof vent. Not a skylight. So that’s exactly what ya need. Remember to use putty tape before you install it and some lap sealant to go over the screws and edges when it’s in. Don’t use silicone.

Yea, the thought was to use the Windows for ventilation as well as light, I purposefully got the slider windows for that reason.

And to be honest, the Admiral wants the skylight to be able to look up at the stars/mountains when we are camping. I know her well enough, and thats more important than having a vent.

This is her vision... as far as I understand it.

But noted on the install! when I did the windows I just used Silicone, which Im slightly nervous about now, but the frames are installed behind the wall panels, so it would be a bit of work to pull them out and reseal.

Sides you have to use sealant like silicone as it won’t sag. The roof stuff is self leveling.

Make sure you you get the inner garnish for the skylight. A lot of times you have to
buy outter and inner separate. Try and stay rectangle as well. Those weird shape ones can get expensive

Hey Austin...I'm bumping your thread to make sure you're still around. I saw that video of the avalanche near Copper that came over I-70. Crazy!

Also, this should give you some ski boat inspiration.

Thanks Tim! Luckily we were touring Berthoud Pass instead and only saw the videos as well. So still around and kicking. Finished up a majority of the trailer and just need to do the finishing touches. then paint the outside.

The poor boat has been very stagnant recently. The admiral and I are in the process of buying a house and so dealing with all that inspection, closing, etc. Taking up a lot of time. But hopefully we will be moving in the second week in April. So I need to have the boat in 1 piece to make the move.

And its been cold in Colorado! Teens almost every day for the past 3-4 weeks which just makes my hands hurt, and all the paint freeze. Hoping to get some warmer weather here soon, then get back on the motivation. Sorry for being slow!

In the meantime, here's some cold, mountain porn for anyone who cares. And puppy pics of our girls, Izzy is already 65 lbs at 8 months old!

Hey no worries Austin. Glad you guys are out skiing and enjoying the winter. And Congrats! on the new house. That's great news.

It's been warm here, in the mid 70s last week and my son asked me about getting the boat out...de-winterization. Thankfully, I said no because it's back below freezing here now. Hopefully though, this will be the last of our cold weather.

My son and I are considering a quick road trip to Taos on the first weekend of his spring break for a few days of skiing. After that it'll be all lake/boat + baseball.

Update? Austin - I know you've been getting snow...still, so maybe you're out skiing a lot...still. I hope so. Or maybe you're out camping in the trailer that you built. But, timeline on getting back on the ski boat? Asking for a friend. :)

Hey Tim! You caught me...

We've been in a whirlwind over the past couple months; here's a list, some fun, some less fun.

* Trailer (I posted some pics here, its 95% done now! Just need to paint the outside!)
* Bought a new house (which then involves moving, cleaning, getting rid of furniture, buying new stuff...)
* Rebuilt the floor in our master bedroom (huge slant in the floor which had me rebuilding the joists and putting in a sub floor)
* Build a walk in closet in Master
* Install Sprinkler system (then realized we dont have enough water pressure to run 4 heads)
* Install booster pump (realized I need a way to turn on/off the pump with the valves)
* install Pump Relay
* New Grass at the house
* Moving pea gravel from a section of the yard to create a dog run for the girls
* Move the Tuff shed from the middle to the corner of the yard

In addition to all that boring working stuff we've gone skiing, camping, hiking, and everything in-between. Plus the admiral got a new job and has been traveling on and off for over a month now; to Germany, Australia, and Seattle.

Life has been a bit crazy to say the least, but the boat is in the garage at the new house. Before I moved it I did get a few things done:
* Steering Cable Hooked up
* Speed pickups
* Gas tank brackets
* Gas tank install
* Cap lowered onto Hull
* Engine remounted

And believe it or not.... I dont have any pictures of the boat! haha its full of all the boat stuff from the move still, but will have to take some when I get home today. In the meantime, here's some more adventure pics, Izzy (golden) is getting so big! Already 85#
