Just ordered this little puppy. I like the peace of mind of having a second battery to operate my downriggers and possibly a trolling motor without draining my main battery.

I ended up sketching up a rough wiring schematic:

Ohhhh you're gonna have fun with that! I have what i consider a decent understanding of 12v systems... well now but by no means close to an expert. Lots of people on here know much much more than me but ill help where i can. Todd4 hung in there with me and taught me all about DPDT switches and so forth. My switches that I bought complicated the hell out of my set up but I made it in the end. Here is my diagram if ya wanna take a look. The pic is small when iboats open it but your browser should allow u to click again then zoom. If not just save the pic and open it in MS Paint. Everyone keeps asking what program I used to make it and well there ya have it MS paint. Anyways not sure if this will help but here ya go.

Revised_wiring_diagram(1).jpg

EDIT: Little word of advice that Silvertip gave me a while back... try to keep it simple as this will help with the headache of trouble shooting... People tend to over switch their boat and i was definitely on that route when i started. Here is a link to the 12v handbook if ya need some background. Found the pdf online... just click the link and in the menu bar on the Left scroll down to you see the electrical link.
http://motoren.ath.cx/
Here is a direct link to the electrical section of that site
http://motoren.ath.cx/menus/electrical.php
I have it downloaded on my comp so if ya want me to send ya a copy of it through email just PM me ur address its 122 pages and very easy to read

Thanks for the info! I'm pretty good with 12v, but its always great to have a reference. Your diagram is certainly more involved than what i have going on, but at the same time yours is going to be a lot nicer than my fishing boat :)

Got the consoles sanded, primed, and the first coat of finish paint on. It went on really well - I used rustoleum in the can and sprayed it on.

Pics!

Looking good CD, I can't wait to see what the bedliner floors turn out like.

The materials for the bedliner are set to arrive early next week - im also excited to see how it works!

This weekend's to-do list:

- Gouge out foam in splashwell to replace bilge pump hose, and add another for secondary pump
- Add second hose and thru-hull connections
- Sand/prime/paint interior metal
- Finish cutting and mounting dash boards to consoles
- Fill small holes in floor with bondo - (from counter-sunk rivets)
- scuff epoxy on floor to prepare for application of bedliner spray
- Start Motor ignition troubleshooting

Thanks! :) It's really not that hard. I'd encourage you to grab a spray gun and give it a try. It goes on a lot like a spray paint can - except it actually creates a nice "fan" so its actually easier. I've painted a motorcycle and other automotive applications and it gets easier and easier the more you do it.

More progress! Got the spray-in bedliner in the mail today. I'm almost prepped to get it in, but wanted to paint the edges of the gunwales. I sprayed the ZC then actual primer on top. Im working on the 3rd coat now. Its amazing how close the color of my finish coat is to the primer!

;)Did you take your rub rail off? that stuff is stretchy and kind of a pain to get back right.

If you didn't remove your rub rail I'd say the bow cap shrunk.

Re: 1985 Sea Nymph 175 Fish & Ski Light Rebuild

Given the temperature has been around 34-38 degrees around here since last week, I didn't expect the topcoat to go on perfectly. I at least expected some orange peel in areas - but went out this morning to check on it and it looks fine. Its tacky, but not wet. I expect it will take at least a few more hours to cure completely so that I can tape it for the flooring spray to go on. I may have to get some kind of heater out there to operate in order for everything to cure in a reasonable time.

I have decided to wait for warmer weather to prep and paint the exterior since a nice finish coat on that is important to me. The interior rails always get skuffed from fishing gear/zippers and clothing/etc anyway.

I am really getting the itch to get this project done and get it out for a splash!
