Cool boat!! I want one.

My family had an older cutty alot like that when I was younger... I think a Crestliner. It ROCKED with a big Johnson outboard on the back, 135 maybe. Used to cruise the 'sippi with it, through the locks and what not from pool 4 and south. Lots of good memories. Get that sucker goin' and have some fun with it!!

Motor Rigging

Rainy weekend up here, may not get a whole lot done.
Hooked up the steering, throttle, ignition, tilt and trim.

Carpet Prep

Glassed the floor panels, and put another coat of paint on the walls.
Hopefully will be installing carpet this weekend.

New Captain Chairs

They seem nice and comfy, going to need to figure out the correct height after the carpet is installed, then build a couple boxes and install pedestals.

Carpet Installation

Made good progress this weekend, most of the carpet is in, and did a bunch of electrical work.

Battery switch, running lights, two bilge pumps, amp meter, gas gauge, and fish finder are all hooked up.

Thanks guys, its getting there :)

Budget is about spent for this year anyways but hopefully it will be in the water for the rest of the summer, then I can pick away at things over time.

Great idea on the pedestal... having a bailing bucket, portable potty, bait container and an adult beverage ice holder all in one convenient location ;) ...joking...good progress, I like the carpet color!

Yeah that's how I feel about mine...still plenty to do yet but the motor works and she floats...so go have some fun:D

I'm looking forward to seeing how that 70hp does on the Islander, I think she may plane her out nicely for you with a reasonable load.

The wind resistance hurts the cuddys a bit though with the height.

Great work, keep it up!

That's exactly what my brother said when he stopped over and looked at it, said it could double as the porta potty. :D

I think it will go ok with the 70hp, its not gonna break any speed records. The fiberglass boat it was on was almost 17ft, and very heavy, it topped out downhill with the wind at 25mph. Hopefully the Starcraft will do about the same, maybe pull a kid on a tube, but mostly just putting around and fishing.

The only reason its going on at all is cause it was free and it runs good, a year or two down the road i would like to finance a 90-115hp outboard.

Something like this http://westernmass.craigslist.org/boa/1852365951.html

That E-Tec would rock. The technology in those things are second to none.

I like your dash. I bought one like it on ebay and can now see how it will look installed.

It's still in the box and I will have to get at that in the spring.

Rocka, is she an 18 footer? If so that 70 is probably your minimum power rating which means you're right, she'll plane but she won't be a speed demon. Has the boat got its capacity plate in place (sorry if I missed this)? If so it should give you minimum, recommended and maximum power ratings. That 115 E-Tec would be a great option (wish we could get them here for that price!!!).

Yep that looks just like the one I have, I need to repaint it at some point.
