Yah, yesterday Jen says....

So, since I obviously couldn't back up the truck for the hook up, I wrestled with chains, pullys and all sorts of rigging to haul it back about 30'

So yah, no longer a "Starcraft Ice Rink" but just a good ol' fashioned ice rink. Safer too:joyous:

Yeah, you need to convince Jen that the rink needs to be covered. A pole barn kit w/o sides would be the ticket. Sides can magically appear after the snow melts.

Yup, that's a 20' x 100' and I already have plans for bigger next year:becky:

That's my proposed spot for the pole barn at the moment anyhow.

Are you getting any help with the barn construction? Tree hoists for roof trestles? I'm just curious, as I have a no-foundation big shed fantasy and I'm wondering how feasible this is as a solo project. Ice rink is sweet!

We will need a link to the pole barn build.If you build it as a clear span,you could theoretically,clear the building out,put up a boarder around the walls,fill it with water,allow it to freeze,and have an indoor rink.What couldn't be moved out could be set up on a short shelf to hold it up off the floor and out of the ice.Then you could supplement your boat building fund by charging $2 per hour per person to skate at their own risk.I'm just full of idears.

I too have dreams of a backyard shed/boat garage...

I'm going to start small with a smallish shed... but I have noidea what I'm doing, but I do have some fancy tools!

If you use the wrong ruler since you don't know what you're doing, it might end up being much bigger than a smallish shed.
