Unreal the size of that fuel tank... uh yeah wow! Fuel lines and hoses. Not sure about bottom feeding etiquette but even considering re-using 30 year old anything fuel related other than the tank has to be out of bounds. No telling what kind of gunk would bust loose and end up where it shouldn't or spring a fuel leak.

Yah, pole barn, I need time and money to make that happen. Interesting, I don't have either at the moment, rats.

So yesterday afternoon I pulled the fitting off the supply and that buzzing stopped. So, I do believe that something may have been clogged in there. And, I didn't actually see any bees, so I think I'm good!

Chris, do you have winter in KY????

WM - actually, I do believe these fuel hoses are replacements of the originals at some point. I can tell they are newish and the foam had been dug out and re foamed. Ah well, it's not too long of a run so it shouldn't be horribly painful.

So hey, I pulled the giant tank out, here's the big void now in the middle of my boat...

I wish I would have snapped some photos of the extraction but most of that job happened in pitch black darkness, in the wee hours of the morning with a head lamp on. The whole process was kinda a trip. You can let your mind wander on those steps, most of what you are thinking probably took place:rolleyes:

I did empty about 45 gallons of fuel out of that tank. 30 of that went to top off the 2 vehicles in the drive.

This morning I wrestled the tank up to my workshop...

I put the tape measure on it, I was pretty darn close when I paced it off, 7'11", big!

Here's the bottom, dirty but in great shape!

After that shot I took off the sending unit and was able to get the last bit of fuel otta there.

So, that's that, tanks out and drained. Cheers:joyous:

Clean the tank up get it in primer and let the kids paint murals and stuff on it,..........

100 years from now when someone is tearing into it they will find hidden artwork,............

Now that's a tank! Are bringing your own pipeline from Canada to your compound to fill that thing??? :)

That is one massive tanker, I had no idea they put that size of tank in any boat. Oh yeah and scratch at least $140 off the initial cost with your floating re-fueling station.

I didn't realize there was working going on down here in the Starcraft basement.... Glad I checked in...

I can't get over the size of that gas tank... Its the "Manute Bol" of gas tanks.

Wow that looks like a lot of work, thanks for starting the thread. Did I see that correctly, a 26' boat with a 4 cylinder??

I'm interested to hear the story of how this new donor boat came to you.

Sorry fellas, no photos yet. It's been pouring rain all day. Plus I got the bride beat down for hauling ANOTHER boat home!

Hey, the next few days look really nice around here. So, this Sea Ray might go for just one last joy ride before "the green mile".
