Re: 1980 Sea Nymph SS 165 Rebuild

Thanks fellas, you guys are making me blush here!

Hey! Fun stuff happenin in the Sea Nymph today, consoles installed!

I used stainless screws on the bulkhead and deck along with rivets to the gunwale. I also used little rubber grommets to give just a bit of space to wash out leaves and junk that might otherwise get wedged in there.

I'm glad I took the time to drill out that hole to kinda shape around the bulkhead, more of a finished look...

Re: 1980 Sea Nymph SS 165 Rebuild

Thanks guys, it's great seeing the boat take some shape now:D

K, I got the bow side cleats installed, used a fat chunk of cutting board as backer...
P1080969.jpg

Stern side cleats too, used that trex deck stuff as backer here...
P1080971.jpg

The backer is a 4' piece as it'll be used as backer for my Bert's tracks too. I got all the holes for those marked and drilled out ready for install...

Awesome.... I like the new bling.

I spent the afternoon grinding and covered in itchy dust. This looks more fun.

Fuel cap is sick. Also like the info on the back brace for the cleats as I am considering adding one to mine! I have learned a lot reading through your restos and appreciate the time you take to explain what you are doing, helps us rookies a ton! Thanks!

Consoles are way sweet.

You shouldn't have showed everyone how the secret gas cap works.

Thanks GA, she's starting to come together:)

If it's any consolation, my arms/hands/fingers are way sore. I had to contort them way past normal ranges for long stretches to get the washers/nuts in place, especially on that fuel fill. I definately needed alien spaghetti fingers today!

OK, yah, your deal was way worse, ugh:(

Bah, I'm a rookie too!

Hey, should have mentioned - all my fasteners are stainless with big washers and nylon lock nuts. Forgot...

You shouldn't have showed everyone how the secret gas cap works.

Rats! I blew it again! Sheesh, what a big dummy I am!

----------------------------------------------

K, goals for tomorrow:

1. Install Bert's tracks

2. Prep for some Teleflex Xtreme Steering action (need to find my bear spray and beat down club first)

Looking good.Is that filler vented or do you have a vent else where for the fuel tank?
