Re: 1980 Sea Nymph SS 165

grub - If you worked for me, and I saw you running that grinder that way, I wouldn't fire you. I'd say...

"Hey, get the handle and guard on that thing! Yur going to cut yur hand right off running it like that!"

...then go on with my day.:) That's what would've happened 10 yrs. ago, but OSHA inspections have become so strict and the fines so high that you can't risk having someone work like that on the job any more... plus you were warned that unsafe work practices will not be tolerated at all of the safety meetings

-------------------------------------------------------

K, up next, we are going to talk about flotation and foam...:D

Will the floatation and foam discussion include Tsunami debris?... I can hardly wait!

Great score on the new addition to the family! I know you were looking for a 16'er and that looks like a cherry. So when will you be bringing that 26' Islander home? :D

By the way, here is Ryan at the helm...

I think what he wants is an OB with 90 stickers and 115 under the hood!:D

This would be sweet on the transom...

Can I have it? Please:D

Yep, Jas. Kids love Tinnies too. A stealth 90 - is that how you're teaching Ryan?

Have the kids kick in for a get well pressie for Daddy and you can have the 90. What's up with all the "s in the ad? Almost like "Plastic" isn't a good thing. Maybe he never saw the "Graduate"

EDIT - Forgot to ask. What did the Doc have to say? Probably said it's a common injury to glasser re-builders.

Wow Jas, i have not been on in awhile and when i do pop back on you have yet another one ready to go. But, what about the girl?? where is her day of beauty??

Sorry bout your hand dude, hope it heals quickly. you know, Gub-Mint, would be a good name since you had to ditch the jet. at least you were able to still take care of everything and still add another one to the stable.

VERY long time from now!

The Ped Surgeon wasn't all that excited about what he saw, so, tomorrow they are going to open up that hand again and do some repair work. No big deal, I hear you get all the ice cream you want with tendon surgery:D

But, what about the girl?? where is her day of beauty??

Yah her day is coming real soon. I just want to get this Sea Nymph gutted and flipped over first. :)

Jason, I go fishing for 4 days and you go crazy.

First and foremost, Very glad you still have 10 sandwich grabbers. Tendon repair on the way is a good thing, but they need lots of time to heal. Been there a couple of times. Maybe you can have them mold a few different splints that will hold your favorite tools.

I have broken the rules many times and am lucky to have all 10 still attached. So here's a brief review on tool safety for me, you and everyone.

That said:

Nice find on the Sea Nymph, but that is the quickest onset 2ft-itis I have ever seen. You water tested the 14 once.

It's a good thing you flip your boats fast. You must also have the most understanding Admiral of anyone here at iboats. She's a definite keeper.

Let the hand heal, enjoy the pain killers while they last. Great time to do any creative thinking. Then get busy and put one in the water.

I don't know if you've seen it or not yet Jas but there's a Sea Nymph pretty similar to this one in the completed boat projects that you might be able to steal some ideas from. I cant wait to see what you do with this..

Make sure to take it easy on that hand for the next while. No innuendos implied :)

Take it as an opportunity to come up some stories like you fight off bikers or the El Chupacabra or something :)

Nah, my last "project" ended up being just a trailer rehab.

Ugh, now that I say that out loud...

Sheesh, that really stinks:facepalm:

She's a definite keeper.

I'm still in shock about her positive reaction to bringing the Sea Nymph home:eek::D

Speedy healing on the hand!

Yah, it's feeling way better already actually. Bummer it's going to get cut open again today. Ah well, I'm sure he'll do a way neater/cleaner job than what I did a couple of days ago:rolleyes:

I cant wait to see what you do with this..

Yah, I'm am really excited about the layout of this boat. What am I going to do? Idunno, but, I do have a bunch of options:)

I told a few folks the story of how it happened at school yesterday, then I got bored. So I started saying stuff like...

"Badger, and I'd really rather not talk about it, thanks."

...then just walk away and let their mind go to work:D

Outstanding! The glassers have put in a special request to your doctor for during the casting operations today post surgery. Turns out he's a glasser at heart. So, 2 extra scoops of itch powder, the glasser special blend... :p

Best of luck resisting the urge to work 1 handed on the Sea Nymph. Sounds like a perfect opportunity for extra credit and an after school internship for some of the more gifted shop students:D Or for a few teaching/training sessions for you to let your sons get their hands dirty (probably much more surface area then just hands:rolleyes:) getting down to the SN's bones & bare hull...............

The crew & I all wish you a complete & speedy recovery..................

Sliced and diced and done and out. Apparently I did more damage than originally thought. I guess one portion was totally severed another section needed attention too. So yah, I guess going in for the hand rebuild was a good move;)

Thanks for staying with me fellas:D

Sorry to hear about your hand, Jas. Hoping for a speedy recovery :D. Also congrats on the new boat! I really like the layout even if it was cramped. Is it 18'? I might have missed that in your thread somewhere. Sorry if it was already posted.
