2 questions, for now...
1- Battery location?
2- started saving up the empty laundry jugs yet?

Man, you are a nut!!! But, I love it.... You have a pretty cool inventory right now.

I love the pics of your kids playing in the boats you seem to bring home.

Hope the hand is okay! We're you able to fish this weekend?

Back to the sea nymph:

1. Really like the lines and layout... The jet set the bar real high, but I think this boat will fish well with lots of room.

2. Wow, that is a Rollin ton of wet foam (sawzall will make quick work of if)..

3. I see lots of ribs, but no stringers... Are the under the foam?

4. That gas tank looks in great shape. Those are spendy, so that's a nice score.

Good add...glad to have another build to watch.

I snapped a phone shot as I was waiting for them to push me into xray. I made it a link just in case you aren't in to this sorta stuff...

Could have been a lot worse! I'm thankful Jen pulled in when she did. I thankful we could dump the kiddos quick off to our neighbors (thanks Greg and Andrea). Thankful bro/sis kept the kiddos overnight. Thankful for the ER docs, they were cool (the liked that I hurt myself rebuilding a boat, they were boat guys too), super efficient, and professional.:)

Nice boat Jas, shame about the hand. Good luck with the restore of both! :)

Now didn't we have some fun with a previous Sea Nymph person who wanted to cut up two SCs and build a 36ft franken-tinny? Whatever happened to him? Jas... be careful out there!!

Just got a note from oops. "see"

Jas - Not making fun of the injury, hope the surgeon has good news, buddy. It could have been worse, but I understand how it happened. Reflexive reaction does that, specially when a red hot hunk of steel is burnin' a hole in your chest. Glad Jen was pulling into the boat yard. Heal quick and be careful!

Jas,

Good to see you toying around with a nymph! The original layout of that boat is quite different than mine - I im excited to see what direction you go with it.

Hope that hand heals quick for ya!

Re: 1980 Sea Nymph SS 165

Wow, looks painful. Sorry about that bro.

So, tell us what really happened. Did you look at her wrong? Did she see you make eye contact with the islander? Did you taunt her? (Tinnies are prickly that way)...

I like the way you went to great lengths to stage out some props like the grinder and torn gloves, when we all know it was the sharp triangle of tin in the background that did the damage.

All kidding aside, very glad you are okay!

A lot of that looks familiar to me once you dug all the interior out. Hope the hand heals quickly and you're right back to restoring tinnies. Although what you'll work on is anyone's guess.:)

Re: 1980 Sea Nymph SS 165

I am sympathetic to your injury... but, had I caught you using that grinder like that on my job site you wouldn't have gotten hurt...
P1080533.jpg

because you'd have been fired as soon as I saw you. No guard and No "T" handle, I'm sure you know better than to do things like this... and this is the reason why.

I'm shutting you down on that boat and you'll have to show me a note for a clean bill of health and return to work release from your doctor before you can resume demolition.

Give your hand a rest, exposing it to all that rotten nasty crap in that boat can make things a lot worse. There will be plenty of time to work on your new boat after you heal.

Hey Jas that's a cool lookin boat you'll get a lot of great fishing out of it when it's done. Dont rush into things with your hand like that, health is the most important thing

So, tell us what really happened. Did you look at her wrong? Did she see you make eye contact with the islander? Did you taunt her? The glassers in that part of Michigan are passing the message around about the bad mojo going on at the Jas & son's boatworks. Like in The Happening, they just leave out the part at the end that after Tinny's get stripped, gutted, and cut, that Jas actually rebuilds them better then they were before: faster, stronger, just generally better all around. Kind of like a modern day Oscar Goldman. The glassers on the other hand, well if you are here reading this thread, you're probably familiar with some of Jason's non-fleshy appendage modifications with power tools when used on down trodden glassers. They do NOT recieve the Steve Austin treatment.....

This ^^^ is just IMHO, the glassers & tinny's are probably not out to get him:facepalm: Take car of the wounded hand....

Did you manage to avoid the tendons on the back of that part of your hand. I won't ever play the piano, flute or anything else that requires much strength in my right ring & pinky fingers, they each only have 1 of the 2 normally present tendons.... Duh, but an entirely different cause... Still dumb...

So this kinda makes you like a middle-man...or a halfway house for wayward tinnies...

Yep, send him your forlorn & forgotten tin boats and he'll fix them right up & send them down the road on another's trailer hitch, if only to make room for the next. It's a perfect circle, 1 boat in, 1 boat out...... 1 boat out, 1 boat in...... & repeat:D

Better hang that Merc repair sign out front and be on the lookout for "Authorized Starcraft/Smoker Craft/Tin Boat Service Center" sign....I think you are getting close to "boatnut's" stable count......I think he's up to 7... and jbcurt got up to like 7 or 8 there for a minute, but most were fiberglass, so they were only good for salvage...

Uhhh, GT, don't let the Bassassin see you talking that glasser smack, he'll recruit the BBE for some serious GT1M beat downs........

The new Jet replacement rig looks like a really good Jas conversion project. And a 90hp max rating, outstanding! Great looking platform & soon to be a wide open canvas just like the Jet was.....

You need to work on getting a cable tv deal to get the: Jason 'The Tin Man' show, on a cable station this fall. 12-16 episode deal, 1 show per week, through the winter off season.... walk some folks through a typical restoration/conversion...... Helpful how to's & a what not to do's.... Maybe the spotlight of the week could be some finer points of battery placement:facepalm: The hows, the whys.... Maybe do the same with the some alternate means of achieving sufficient flotation below decks.........

Seems like everyone's jumping on the 16 footer band wagon........ Hmmmm, I wonder who's next?:cool:

Have a good week planning, plotting, visualizing getting the hand wrap off & getting back on the SN. Heal fully & quickly.

Re: 1980 Sea Nymph SS 165

To my glassen buddies - No the alum did not cut me! Well, at least there it didn't. (I do have a few other cuts n stuff from the sharp alum:facepalm:). By the way, that splint I'm wearing, it's made of fiberglass, so ya, one up for the glitter boat boys:rolleyes:

grub - If you worked for me, and I saw you running that grinder that way, I wouldn't fire you. I'd say...

"Hey, get the handle and guard on that thing! Yur going to cut yur hand right off running it like that!"

...then go on with my day.:)

-------------------------------------------------------

K, up next, we are going to talk about flotation and foam...:D
