Jason Mele kalikimaka I've missed you while living vicariously thru your thread. We're getting back to Pensacola for New Year and hope to start my demo on my 22 Islander. I'll start a thread if I can get started. Salt water concerns? It seems like I remember some early in your thread regarding primer? Impressive work and quality!!!

Salt water concerns?

Hey man! I wouldn't sweat it too much so long as you wash er down after each run. I'd likely not slip a metal boat full time unless I did everything possible to prevent salt and current from eating my boat ya know.

Excellent update. Did you loose a bet? Just asking............

BTW: Do you need to speak to the landlord about getting some heat in the garage? Just watching the vid made me cold :cold:

PM headed your way.

Looks great!

I'm trying to picture the 1/2in plywood plan tho.

Will it be vertical or horizontal?

I'm picturing it being vertical as a strip, an steam bent around the bow maybe, or just along the gunwales?

break out the ms paint! :D

Only change was the addition of an appropriate sign. Jas & his chainsaw do what they do, sign or no sign........

Looks good Jas! You're doing a great job compensating for the loss of structural support that the cap provided. Beard looks pretty bomb-proof too!

How did you get jen okay with that?

HA!! Nice!

Uh yah, I may have stole a few days extra from "no shave November". Jen? Ah, no. She's not at all ok with it. It came off yesterday actually. She's already embarrassed enough to be seen with me, chewbacca face didn't help any!

Ah sheesh Gib, you'll do anything to see me work my magic on photoshop! No need, here are some photos for ya. I chopped out some pieces of ply and here they are as a dry fit....

I made a mistake on the video saying 1/2" - I should have said 1/4" backer with a 1/2" total when I include the cockpit combing pad ya know.

Oh hey, here's a close up of my clamp work...

Got your PM. Thanks.

Shaved the beard? You were mere days away from a guest appearance call for Duck Dynasty... :watermelon:

1/4" ply coaming looks good.

That 1/4" ply and the 3" beard are looking sweet! I like how you tie everything together for structure...impressive work!
