The 4.3 isn't to bad of fuel when your trolling but a 10 horse has got to be way better. Last year it cost any where from $40 to $60 per trip for gas then $10 to launch and i only live 10 miles from the launch i use on the bay. I dont really want to think about what its going to cost to run over to Manistee, Frankfort, and Traverse City this summer.

If anyone comes across a good used 10 horse long shaft 4 stroke let me know.;)

Yah, good news is, if I filled both tanks in the Islander that 61 gallons should last me a really long time. Probably an entire summer at this point. My kiddos are still little so no skiing/tubing yet and likely trolling 90% of the time.

Sitting in the drive making boat motor noises doesn't hardly burn anything, prolly only 10 gallons per hour or so.:D

You spose I'd need to actually catch fish to pull that off ^^^^^? I could tell jokes or dance or something:D

Hey good deal alert! This would be for you guys who are looking at a bunch of upholstery work in the future.

My vinyl is on the way and I needed a new staple gun. I have a air crown stapler (staples too long) and an el cheepo staple gun (not enough umph) so I grabbed this...

Menards, $35 on sale for $25, $10 mail in rebate = $15 for the pkg. Sweet!

Don't bother going to the Saginaw store, I'm pretty sure I grabbed the last one:D

Ah dummy, something vinyl related...

Uh, pick up my purple vinyl pants from the dry cleaners! Yah, that must be it!

I haven't heard that, but I have like three or four. I'm sure I could give up a couple:D

I think MichaelP means monel staples.

They're much more corrosion resistant that everyday steel staples.

TII

Ouch, ya pay for em too, eh. Those are kinda pricey.

Thanks TII:)

I've redone may boats, mainly pontoons that stay in the water all year, and all I have ever used is stainless steel staples.Never had any issues.

I coated all my staples in epoxy before using.

Did you sand with 220 and clean with Xylene in between coats?

If not your boat will surely rot from the inside out and sink to the bottom of the sea. Just sayin man.

:p:D

Yah, I'll prolly just go stainless, since this boat will be a trailer queen, under a cover when at rest. Should last pretty close to forever.

Just so you guys know I'm not just slacking and talking trash...

Sanded and laid down the last coat of epoxy on the side panels tonight.

And for you tractor guys, worked on a new implement for the Fergusen 35;)

Cheers!:D
