Re: 1975 Omega Restore, the project goes on.
So we got more done today, I have been busy with another project for the last week. "LostCause" has been working on it while I have been away. He got the deck all shaped up and fitting right, got the glass on the bottom of the deck, finished up the foam on the sides of the hull, and finished the bow eye.
Today we got the front 3 deck boards in.
Here is me mixing up some PB.
We laid in the deck boards and drilled pilot holes and screwed them down tot he stringer with coated screws, then removed the screws and the deck boards. Then filled the hole in the stringer with 5200, and filled the hole through the deck with 5200, after that we put a bead of PL down the center of the stringer and around the holes to keep water out of that area even better.
Then we put our PB around the edges and joints of the deck, then we layed up the glass
Heres us putting on the resin.
Deck layed up
Here it is with the forward parts of the glass on, reason for the glass only going partially down the third deck board is because of 2 reasons...
1. We are laying up the glass staggered from the deck seems for more strength.
2. the 4th and 5th deck boards will go in AFTER the cap goes back on, we have to measure the 4th deck board back for the pedestal mounts and need the cap on to get the proper placement.

And here is the awesome job that LostCause did on the bow eye layup
Back to the other project for me for a few days, I'm helping my buddies parents lay wood floors in their new house so hopefully they can move in by next weekend. So I have been strapped for time. Hopefully by next week I will be back on the boat.
