idea 2 would be box made of pine tongue and groove under the companionway, battery strapped in middle, off to both sides would be switches monitors chargers, ect, the fuse panel would mount inside to the back of the box. and the new wiring for all lights and accessories would either come in from the sides or the back of the box. all hidden of course.

Interesting, ive been looking into the cause of my mildew problem. and i believe i have found it. . since the gas can has been sitting under the cockpit, i am now more sure then ever that this is the cause of it. now, this boat came to me this way. so now i have to rectify the situation and make it proper. i will have to make a mold resistant fuel locker somewhere up top. . sand all the crap outta the cockpit underside and repaint with mold resitant paint. and maybe gelcoat it as well. here is the article of this .

I like the way that looks in there with the rounded opening framing it all up and making the panel nicely recessed to protect your switches! Seems like that's the best spot and to have tour battery near there would be really convenient and probably best for weight distribution too. Right under the door seem like a great spot bc it is otherwise a kinda unused area but it is also probably the wettest area, especially stepping into cabin in rain etc. so thinking the other spot would be better just for that reason alone.

Are you replacing the stove or losing it completely?

this is not my boat, however this is what i have to look forward to when i get the paint outta the screw heads. i will then proceed to take them all out. maybe keep some but not likely. and make storage under there instead.

So they filled those areas with little foam scraps? I was expecting the spray in stuff. Well that'll be way easier to remove!

Looking good! I see you got yourself a nice big group 24 battery to play with. Not sure if switches like that are still available, or not.. Shoreline marine has similar looking black toggles but not exactly the same. Is there a brand name visible? I only see an F.

no brand name on them . so i think 10 new ones are gonna be in order. but first getting the wiring. then the end of january getting the switches , lights, ect...... i should be on the water for late may early june. hopefully if all goes well.

Solid plan man, I'm basically doing the same approach with a number of things on mine. The wiring is the more important (and time consuming) work, swapping in newer switches later should be easy. Looking forward to seeing this baby in the water!
